He hasn’t got a plan though, has he? He’s just outlined that France’s NHS (carefully crafted sentence) gets better outcomes. There’s no detailed policy program because he isn’t going to be in a position where he’s in government in July 5th. His goal this election is to ruin the tories. Clint...

    Season tickets for 2024/2025 season

That’s a great effort considering the early bird window is still open! Us fans are doing our bit, time for Robin, King and the rest to do their bit! Next week is the one, hopefully some signings through the door before the Euros start and from there, we’ve got England to keep us ticking over...

You caught me out on a technicality, well done. I’d be surprised if you didn’t realise I was in about the leaders that will actually impact the election; Sunak, Starmer and I’ll throw in Ed Davey for good measure.

They probably will once we have an idea of how many STs we sell. If we hit 22-23k ST, how many tickets will be available? About 4-5k per game?

Why’s that important? If he’s not going to start it’s not really worth bemoaning who we took as a 4-5th choice defender.

Personally, no. They’re on 7% in the polls and it looks silly having 5 candidates to go through. At least the Lib Dem’s are forecast to get 30-40 seats.

A quick look at the polls should tell you. A debate with Starmer, Sunak, Farage and Davey is debate the public want to see. With Plaid and SNP, there’s no point in having them on national election debates as they only field candidates in Wales and Scotland respectively.

Branthwaite isn’t a LB though. Konsa and Gomez can cover multiple positions and that’s why I think they got in ahead of him. As for Dunk, he’s experienced and a club captain who the most similar to Maguire. Had Maguire been fit I’d suspect Dunk would’ve been left home. Personally, I’d prefer...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

On point number 2, how out of step is Farage on public opinion though? Especially on immigration which scores as the most important of issues outside of cost of living. Labour will get a landslide because the electorate rejects the tories, but the electorate is hardly enthusiastic about Starmer...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Boris Johnson was popular with working class voters and apparently too was Major in ‘92? The one thing I’m interested in that no one has picked up on here… Is that a leader of a party openly called for NHS to be moved to an insurance model and somehow ‘won’ the debate according to polls. In...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Two questions: 1) Why is Reform overtaking the tories in the polls? 2) Why is Farage so popular among Tory members?

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’m not calling it right wing, but balanced budgets are associated with ‘small government’ and you won’t get many on the left calling for budget surpluses. It’s contextual Shmmeee, who was calling Blair RW? Certainly not tories but the Labour left.

If Labour can survive Corbyn, I think the Tories could survive Farage. The latter is actually a popular populist and Corbyn had net negative ratings from Day 1.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Blair economically accepted free markets and introduced market reforms in the public sector (education and healthcare) and achieved budget surpluses. So can see why the Labour left brands him ‘right wing’. Balanced that out with increases in welfare spending, so he’d fit in as a One Nation Tory...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Why not? If he gets elected in Clacton there’s every chance. The Tory MPs will be reduced to a rump and he’s a character that is overwhelmingly popular among their membership.

Ask tories how right wing the government is and the answer you’ll get is ‘they’re not’. Part of the reason Reform got to 13% in the polls is the perception that the government is basically ‘social democrat’. I believe Sunak when he says he’s Thatcherite. The economic shocks of COVID and the war...
