The way the company seems to have it's priorities I'm sure these people will still be getting paid after all the engineering and production staff are gone and there's no product for them to sell.

I'm sure some will but you'd said you couldn't see how they could claim it. Email is out today and sounds like they are looking to put a lot of people on it.

I understand that, I am one of those staff, but it sounds like you are prioritising staff over production staff. There's little point us getting the next MY ready if there's nobody to build it. Yes it's due to supply channel, a side effect of the virus, so business should be eligible to claim...

Just had email from HR saying they’ll be looking to put people on furlough where possible. Anyone already stood down will be on furlough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The union did send some communication which said they would be focussed on measures that maintain jobs but I think the company is going to struggle to survive let alone not have any redundancies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you hear anything you’re not comfortable sharing in public please feel free to DM me. I’m on the increased working week and they should have dropped that weeks ago IMO to save some costs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If the company runs out of money paying the wages are they then eligible? Is it even a condition that workers need to be expendable? I thought any business can claim it if affected even if it’s just due to reduced demand? I’d imagine the cash reserve would last a lot longer if all they had to...

Meanwhile several of the department are in hospital, losing more by the day as they isolate with symptoms. Yet still it’s “business critical” that we continue working. The thinking seems to be they want the next lot of cars ready on time for sale (demand is obviously going to be severely...

The probably we have in the U.K. is the term engineer isn’t legally defined like in many countries so the term gets banded about too freely and means there’s nothing to stop managers promoting their “yes men” to engineer so they can give them a raise and keep them on side. So nothing in their about France lying then? So now you’re criticising the EU for not having a consistent approach? It’s almost like they work on a collaborative basis and if members don’t agree they don’t do something. If the council had tried to force a consistent approach you’d be calling...
