    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

As BSB indicates, depends on the quality of their scientists, what restrictions they’ve been working under etc. I’m no scientist (obviously) but id be shocked if exactly what had been released/leaked was immediately shared with scientists around the world, vaccines couldn’t have produced even...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The trusted trader option was originally rejected by EU from memory and Varadkar has subsequently admitted they were OTT during original negotiations. This isn’t all EUs fault though, there was a total lack of trust between the two sides, ERG nutters making threats to bring down government...

There should be no problem with aligning in certain aspects, especially areas where we have same standards already. This should always been the starting point with a mechanism to deal with any divergences on either side.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

If true they should be forking out significant sums in international reparations, not for the leak itself but the cover up and delays in responses caused by it. Not only might it have been better contained (long shot due to highly contagious nature of virus) but providing specifically what had...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Heard the chat and assuming this is agreed/passed, it sounds like the plan is to progress other areas ie horizon agreement etc. hopefully it will be the start of a new, more amicable relationship. Both sides have probably recognised that there are far bigger battles to be had than between allies

    Boxing 2023

Watched the fight earlier. Not bad but Paul’s a limited fighter….as you would expect. Fact he can generate a few million per fight is crazy really. Agree with Bunce that further exposure is good for boxing, however, shit fighters getting paid millions while far more skilled, proper professionals...

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 25th Feb

Great, hard fought win. Sunderland have got some very good individuals (Robert’s and Clarke out wide being two) so we should be really pleased with that. We looked really dangerous on the break and two quality goals . Fun atmosphere as well

They didn’t in the election v May ? By the next election people were that fucked off with Parliament pissing about on one issue for three years they just wanted it out the way Ps I think Corbyn himself was one of the main reasons in the most recent election

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

My point was that Tony started predicting what would happen with leaders of parties, future elections etc. nobody knows. I honestly didn’t think Cameron would walk immediately after result, nor that May would be next in line, or that parliament would grind to a halt, that ERG would continue to...

Got the lottery numbers for tomorrow ? Let’s be honest nobody knows what would’ve happened. We’ve had two generational/lifetime incidents (covid and war) since the vote for starters. Actually when you look at what’s happened since 2008 you really couldn’t make it up

    Toilet roll 2.0?

Its not really that it makes it ok, it’s more a response to people who are suggesting the issue only relates to us when it’s obviously a wider issue across the continent, to varying degrees. The veg situation might be a bit of a pain in the arse for some but I haven’t had any real issues and the...

But they’ve been doing it for three years. Everything will be in place and there’s no checks yet as I say. If this was an U.K. export issue I’d agree as I think Ukraine have agreed to follow certain EU standards (like we should do) but this will be to do with the weather impacting produce...

That’s nonsense Tony. We’re not even checking EU produce until next year. Unless you’re suggesting the EU is trying to teach us another lesson. Hang on a sec…

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

To be fair if you’re 25+ points up in the pollls there’s probably no need to do anything too ground breaking which might lead to people picking policy apart. Opposition parties also don’t want to release specific policy this far out from an election. No real benefit at the moment. If Sunak...
