They close ranks over everything and make it impossible to get information. When my Dad went into hospital, which was peak covid, he went in with a no-resus order. As it was peak covid we couldn't visit but the first couple of days we spoke to him on the phone and then there was a sudden...

Who was in goal the furst game you saw ?

Oggy for me. Arsenal at home Aug 86. My memories are we won and there was only about 10K there. Unthinkable now that playing Arsenal in the top division would have a crowd like that.

    season ticket sales

Exactly. I don't think there can really be any complaints. People know its going up, if you don't want to risk an increase buy in the early bird!

Can't get investment into UK businesses so they want people to stick there money in stocks & shares ISAs, which won't be part of the change, rather than savings ISAs. Of course if people wanted to do that they would do it already. Some people prefer to know their money is safe.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is going to be something else that goes down like a lead ballon. How long before the backbenchers are getting it in the ear from their constituents and pressuring for yet another u-turn. At this point I'm starting to wonder if Labours policy chief is a plant from the tories or reform...

    24 Hours in Police Custody

the guy was so chilled, it was nuts. you would not have been in the slightest bit surprised if it had popped up at the end that they'd discovered another 50 crimes.

    All-purpose tennis thread

What a day for the Brits, our most successful day at Wimbledon ever. Huge win for Boulter, played some incredible tennis today. While Raducanu was playing there was shouting from the stands and the BBC said there was a 'disturbance', hope that's not related to her stalker. BBC have some...

Its an absolute pain that so many tours skip the midlands now. I can just about make a weeknight gig in Brum or Wolves but any further than that and I'm looking at having to take annual leave and I don't get enough of that to use it on gigs. There must be so many people that just don't go now...

They've announced their tour and its Manchester and London again. Unless I missed it has got to be years since they've played Brum, or any Wests Mids gig for that matter.

There's articles in the US press now about how they're going to save live music and stop venues shutting as there's now an underground punk movement. Its a nice sentiment and hopefully true but I suspect that movement has always been there, its just getting more attention now. But as happened...

Well obviously they're a hardcore band but I just mean their sound is more commercial than the likes of Sick of it All, Cro-Mags etc. But I'm very aware of not being that Pistols fan from the 70s hating Green Day, Rancid, Offspring etc because they've sold out and aren't real punk :ROFLMAO...

I’m of an age where I just laugh at the kids thinking they’ve discovered a new thing 😂 Can’t decide if they’re great or a commercialised version of what I used to listen. Is quite comical the number of comments I’ve seen about people ‘living in the moment’ at their gigs and not watching...

Doesn’t seem a great solution that 1 in 5 children, and rising, has to go to private school. Although the stats don’t seem to back that up. The percentage of SEND kids in public and private education seems to be roughly the same. And I’m sure the parents of non-SEND kids aren’t going to be too...

Wonder how many people actually watched Vylans set. I would expect iPlayer wasn’t exactly creaking at the seams trying to cope with the number of viewers. At some point people might learn not to rush to social media and these things would pass by with hardly anyone noticing. Also, what did he...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

well yes, I'm not saying autism didn't exist. but, in my school at least, there was one or two 'unruly' children per class. Now from what stats I can find, in the TES, we're now looking at 1 in 5 kids and its rising by about 100K a year, far faster than the rise in the school age population...
