    New players new songs?

Why don’t we just sing the chorus to ‘A Message to You Rudy?’ It’s unique and as a classic Cov tune. Similar to how we sign ‘Twist and Shout’.

Which is a given because MVE is a player who carries the ball. Bidwell will be further forward because we target him with diagonals and we generally want him hitting first time crosses.

    Haji Wright

His main competition is Sakamoto, Wright and Simms are nailed on starters. EMC had 2 good opportunities to open his account with us last night and he lacked that killer instinct last night. It’ll come though, he’s still adjusting.

Agreed on that, Rudoni had free license in attack and to be fair to him, was responsible for filling in defensively when Torp moved forward too. I don’t want to get too carried away, but the early signs to me is that he’s an upgrade on COH.

We weren’t dreadful, in the second half we were the better team that couldn’t fashion a clear cut chance. Missing Sheaf and Wright was a big factor imo.

Binks failed to win the header in the first place for their first and both CBs were ball watching after Simms’ poor touch. That was a collective failure. Including Torp’s poor header - entirely preventable. Similarly, for their second, we got caught out following Torp’s misplaced pass and we...

He put in some solid tackles but I don’t disagree with the view that Torp and Eccles struggled when pressed and I’ve felt all 3 games we’ve been open in midfield and defence. That may be a tactical issue(s) that needs to be tweaked but I suspect that Sheaf will shore things up.

He set the tone from the first minute when he tried to knock the ball past his man and had tremendous pace. He’s scoring 20+ league goals this season.

I rewatched the highlights and Haji’s anticipation for the winner was fantastic! Thought he had a superb game, instrumental in all 3 goals and frankly should’ve scored before the winner with 1-2 chances beforehand. Tats too, linked up really well with MVE which was typified with how he set up...

    Luis Binks tonight

On the ball, without a doubt. Defensively, Kitching and Thomas are better imo. All 3 league goals we’ve conceded have been poor and the defence including Binks bears responsibility there.

    Luis Binks tonight

Binks’ distribution is top notch but his positioning could be worked on, imo. I felt we were more secure in the Bristol City game but distribution-wise, we looked a lot better with Binks. I suspect there will be a lot of rotation in that LCB role depending on the opposition.

    Do we miss McFadzean?

Seen the goals we’ve conceded this season so far? It’s been nightmarish.

Well deserved win and on the ball we looked fantastic. The only issue we had was off the ball, the spine looked weak. Got away with gifting two soft goals! On we March!

    EFL Cup 2nd round draw

I agree it should be scrapped tbh, especially being so early in the season.

    EFL Cup 2nd round draw

Wembley would make the most sense to host a semi final if we went down the neutral venue route. There’s not many stadia that are big enough to host the big teams evenly imo. I do agree that 2 legged semi final is naff - it isn’t Europe!

    Transfer Rumour Oliver Dovin

I hoped you’d say Kefalonia was rubbish. I was supposed to go there on my cruise in May but the weather called it off because the port is tiny. The scenery looked amazing.

    EFL Cup 2nd round draw

Consecutive away games at Bristol City and consecutive home matches v Oxford. What are the chances of that? It’s a winnable tie but it’s just boring to be playing the same teams over and over. Easy 20 points for though for the people complaining about access to away games.

Great, another repeat fixture… at least it’s winnable.

It wasn’t a 4-4-2 in the traditional sense. After made the subs, for a 5-10m period Palmer was hugging the left hand side and BTA operating as a striker. From going 1-0 up, BTA was on the left hand side and Palmer back as an AM. At least that’s how it looked to me in the stands. Wright operates...
