Yesterday was the final League Cross Country fixture of the season. We were at Abington Park in Northampton. THere were dire warnings that the course was flooded and would be shortened, but thankfully the rain had ceased overnight and the full course went ahead. I was more pre-occupied with my...

    After goal chant

Although not as worried as i was against them in 97 after the Huckerby goal..... Beckham stepping up for that free kick.... thankfully he slipped and it flew into the East Stand.

2 up against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2006..... THey get a free kick on the edge of our box in injury time. "if this goes in we're fucked...."

    After goal chant

I was at Bologna vs Fiorentina a few years back, in the curva..... that game is a fairly big derby for them. I'd been to a number of games that week in the north..... Milan, Atalanta, Verona, etc..... but Bologna felt distinctly different and yes more Mediterranean/Southern Europe influence...

    After goal chant

First time i ever heard it was at home to Sheffield Wednesday probably around 97 or early 98, they bought a big following and sang it for most of the first half. It wasn't long after that we were singing it for Huckerby.

Lovely fans those Leeds lot aren't they

I remember that 95/96 game. Best moment was a City fan with his kid still on his shoulders, punching a Leeds fan to the ground on the pitch.

    Running

I've struggled this week due to straining a ligament in my foot at the XC last weekend. Did the club session last tuesday (3 x 2km reps) but since then i've been unable to run. Resumed easy running this morning with 9.5 miles. Hoping to be back in shape for the final XC League fixture next...

    FA Cup draw

They've only dropped 18pts all season (now 10pts clear btw) Their record is not poor by any intepretation. They clearly aren't quite good enough for the premier league, which is why they went down last year. They've got more points already than we got in all of last season.... they're clearly...

    FA Cup draw

Yes, i'm not disagreeing with you. I've seen us play (and win) at Anfield, and its entirely possible we might be there again in the next few seasons. Its clearly a different viewpoint to a non-league fan/club where this might have been their one chance to play away at a major club.

    FA Cup draw

Tbf they're pissing the league by 7 points, i don't think they're struggling, any club can have a blip. Look at the start to our season.... we'll have a bad spell between now and end of season.

    FA Cup draw

For us i'd agree entirely. For Maidstone, i can see the appeal.

    FA Cup draw

They wanted Man City away and were a little disappointed it didn't happen. It was no more than that. It wasn't "disrespect", nor was it a dig at us or Sheff Weds (nor indeed Luton either).

    Cup draw

I recall many on here deriding Barnsley as a "shit" draw when we were a division below them. (quite apart from the fact that Barnsley is actually a decent away day) The hypocrisy on here is unbelievable at times.

    Running

Midlands Cross Country Champs today at Newbold Comyn, Leamington Spa. Toughest course of the season so far, with plenty of thick mud, a decent tough hill, and lots of rough stuff, also 12km rather than the usual 10km in the league. In fact today was the first race where my pace has slipped...

What does this club mean to you?

I've got vague recollections of the cup win, although i was more interested in playing in the garden at the time (aged 5). My main memory is all the car aerials having blue ribbons tied to them for what seemed like years. Went to first game in 92, first season ticket in 96, and my first away...

We usually park at Meadowhall..... although i haven't been for a while, i think its two trams..... one back to centre, then another out to Meadowhall

Is it too early to be thinking of….

If we get to the playoffs, there will be a couple of significantly stronger teams than last season, and we'd quite possibly have to beat both to go up. Not saying it isn't possible, but while i think we'll make the playoffs, we're highly unlikely to be the favourites.

    Running

Trail races are fine, they are generally not too technically difficult, but obviously moreso than running on the road, which to a lot of people makes it more interesting. You probably need to run with a shorter stride due to the ground being a little trickier, you can't always necessarily...

    Leicester

That was nothing to do with the comment. The point made was that we (apparently) have a huge fanbase compared to Leicester. We are similar sized cities and have vaguely similar historical attendances, give or take a coupe of thousand. The fanbases are pretty similar.

Averaging slightly more, yes. So as i said, pretty similar.
