Fair points. I would note that we’ve let a lot of the youth go so I think the club have filtered a lot of the weaker players out. The likes of Eccles look of decent quality.

Inclined to agree but then players effectively as wingers allowed Bayliss and Shipley to break through.

I think so. Suspect some of the ITK accounts have a lose link to the club, maybe minor staff member that hears murmurs and most the of squad and staff are away in Spain atm. We haven’t had a signing out of the blue yet really and like you say there’s usually one or two.

Should we be concerned that there are no rumours currently or is it likely a symptom of squads and staff being in different locations not allowing any gossip to leak out?

I’m sure somebody has said in the past he was the next big thing a few years ago, think he then got a pro contract at a young age, but then hasn’t pushed on as much as expected.
