A photo i saw online id never seen before of HR

That’s the photo I was thinking of. Showing the family stand being built on top of the pre-existing terracing. I suppose that how they were able to build it so quickly

Interestingly the original west terrace wasn’t fully demolished. They just removed the roof. The family stand was then built above it. The terrace in this picture remained until the 80s when the seats were put in and the steps had to be re-profiled

It’s to spread the income out evenly across all games. If pricing is a big factor as people in this thread think, we’ll have the same number of fans at the Huddersfield game as the Sunderland one

    King et al vs SISU

I don’t think anyone is fawning over the new ownership. Most people fully acknowledge the problems that still exist in the club

    King et al vs SISU

Actually this thread is a decent read. It shows most of us singing from the same Hymn sheet. Basically Sisu were awful. So far King is better but there are still many problems within the club.

I agree that team support isn’t based purely on the built up conurbation, which makes comparisons between city sizes useless. That’s the point I’m trying to make. Using that stat Leeds and Man City are amongst the worst supported teams in the country!

    Season Tickets!!!

So basically the printer at the ticket office has ran out of ink? Could this process be anymore Micky Mouse?

    King et al vs SISU

Competency off the pitch is still a shambles. However ambition, and intention is vastly improved. Investment in Ryton is welcome, and investment in the stadium means we’re at the CBS indefinitely now. Allowing the manager the overwhelming majority of transfer fee income is something that no...

The blocks next to the away fans that makes sense. When it’s block 27, which is going to have an open block either side of it any it just seems silly. As both adjoining blocks will be open, the stairwell will already need a steward

I think people have delusions of how big Coventry is. The Coventry Urban area has a population of 360k. The Leicester urban area has a population of 508k. The two cities are not comparable.

No we’re not. We’ve currently sold around 20.5k non corporate home tickets. Even with a Conservative estimate of corporate being half full, that brings us to 22k home fans. With 5 days of sale still to go

We’re not looking at a lower turn out though. Let’s see how many are at the Huddersfield game

I understand what you’re saying, honestly I do. I’m playing devils advocate slightly. I just find it hilarious that people think 22k home fans is poor

Are there poor matchday sales? Bank holiday weekend, nothing directly riding on the game, 22k+ home fans in attendance. How many were you expecting?

It was more the phrase “I don’t care about revenues” that I objected to. We should all care. If we had more in the past we might’ve not just had 20 years of hell

That’s a perfectly reasonable argument. However, you have to acknowledge the income needs to come from somewhere. So if not from kid’s tickets, from where?
  18. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

No, what I am saying is if you did reduce kids prices you’d either have to replace that income from elsewhere (where?) or cut expenditure

Fine, but if that’s all you care about we’ll be back in 2013 before you know it. Everyone has an opinion on what the club should be charging. I’ve not seen one comment about how to otherwise generate income.
