Marlon King committed to Coventry City cause

A fully fit MK with a full pre-season under his belt would be fantastic for next season. Unfortunately I expect that with our financial position he'll be off elsewhere - but we can hope! My dad is 80 in a couple of months and hasn't been to a game for months because of ill health. He's...

    Favourite Coventry City league match?

There were so many great games that season. You've picked out 2 of the best but there was also beating Liverpool with 10 men (well with Ray Graydon on the pitch but unable to move more than a yard or so), beating Chelsea 5-1, beating B'ham 4-0, Wolves 3-0 and the last game of the season when...

    Jukes Disallowed Goals

Watched them both in slow motion on the Offal. The first is a really bad decision. The keeper fumbles the ball and then falls into Juke who isn't moving. The second is harder to see, but using the pause button (not sad or anything....) he looks at least level. He's had a bit of bad luck...

Overall I'd agree with you that the crowd got behind the team pretty well yesterday. I see that you're in block 15 so maybe it doesn't happen so much there, but over in the Telegraph stand there are a number of loud voices (why do they always have the loudest voices???) who seem to be just...

Didn't mean to suggest that you'd said you'd booed him or that you would boo him. Your point seemed to be that Cov fans aren't allowed to be critical. My view is that we are pretty critical - though many would say with good reason! As you correctly state, I was saying that a positive...

Poll: Ann Lucas v Marlon King.

Wasn't a dig at you. It pops up every now and again - just that I'm fairly sure that everyone has a pretty firm view where they stand on the issue by now.

Poll: Ann Lucas v Marlon King.

On this point I agree with you 100%. Done to death, doesn't even come close!

Poll: Ann Lucas v Marlon King.

GPE - I think you miss my point. I accept that Ann Lucas took a moral position. Your comment seemed to be saying that people who disgreed with her were ignoring the moral aspect because they were more interested in the footballing position. My point is that it is possible to take an...

    Michael McIndoe

    But sadly, not surprising.

Poll: Ann Lucas v Marlon King.

GPE. That really is quite an offensive statement - the councillor "took an honest moral/ethical position" but other people took a "different football based view". In my view, once someone has served their sentence they should be allowed - actually encouraged - to get on with their lives. I...

Poll: Ann Lucas v Marlon King.

Blindness cuts both ways. Some people have been "bizarrely blind" to how well MK has played.

    Michael McIndoe

Looked really motivated when he came on. I think he'd look much better in a team playing yesterday's style, as (like David Bell) he's a "keep possession" type of footballer.

An alternative view would be - this is CCFC where if a player misplaces a pass you boo him to show your disgust, never mind if he's 19 with only a few first team games behind him (for example), never mind that confidence is such a large part of the sport and booing the best way to destroy it...

    Running Costs

I imagine they came from the accounts and the annual return - each available from Companies House at the very reasonable cost of £1.

    Cranie fit for Watford?

Just noticed on ccfc.co.uk that "Richard Wood is out with a groin injury while Martin Cranie is a doubt" - so if he's only a doubt, maybe he will be fit. Please.

    Is king available

So if it is King + 2. who will be the other 2? I'd assume Juke will play, so will the other be Freddy or Shef?

How is all began in the championship ...

I remember leaving the ground that day thinking what a shame it was that we'd only have one season in the "lower reaches" as it was so nice winning easily and being the "big club". Little did I think.................

The hoff talks more about investment

Bet there'd soon be a few posts on here complaining that we weren't being kept in touch with what was going on!! :D:D

    support the team

I'd agree with that. I think that one of the problems with the Ricoh is that we have few "special memories" of games there. If I think of Highfield Road, I think of Tommy Hutch's debut (obviously), Ferguson 4 Ipswich 1, 5-4 against Norwich, beating Liverpool with 10 men etc etc. Not too...

    support the team

I think you have a point with the Leeds game, but I think that was more due to 6k noisey Leeds fans. I can't see any of our remaining opponents bringing serious numbers this season so I think bigger crowds would help - with the proviso of course that we actually support the team.
