If Burge wants to stay then I’d keep him for now but I’d be scouting for a new No1 for the next few seasons. I don’t think he is good enough overall.
If he wants to go then it’s easy, sell up
I keep saying this too. Can’t get my head around any expectation for promotion this year at any stage. But apparently it was on the cards because we are CCFC and have signed 9 new players! And that makes me deluded! Ha ha
So when we play relegated teams we automatically do and should get 3 points? Brilliant. And signing 9 new players replacing our one natural goal scorer of 28 goals means promotion. Dear oh dear.
I’m in shock over your views here. Good for you.
Signing a load of new players can make things harder for awhile as they need to fit into a system that works and gel as an individual player and as a team. If the new ones we signed were like Ronaldo they wouldn’t be joining us.
So we’re going to have inconsistencies
You said promotion was on the cards. I challenged it and you said ‘we’ve signed lots of players and stop making excuses’
So IT SOUNDS like you feel we should be higher as an entitlement and because we’ve signed 9 new players.
Promotion wasn’t on my cards at the start of the season before a ball was kicked. Why would it have? We won promotion from League 2 from finishing 6th and we sold McNulty.
After the 5 win run we were close to the playoffs but I knew we wouldn’t keep it up so no it wasn’t on the cards at all.
I don’t know where the promotion plans have come from? We are a promoted team with fuck all money.
I’ve always said mid table would be a good start to life back in L1 and go for it in the summer again, with fuck all money.
Back to back promotions was a pipe dream.
Luton appear to be the exception.
So we go 1-0 and Robins makes a defensive substitute.
He brings on JCH for Hiwula and although that’s a striker for a striker, we all know that means 1up top with JCH helping out defensively. Couldn’t understand why we needed to do that - we were on top at the time, let’s push for 2.
Minute...
I mean the actual headline Nick. The headline that makes me click into the article.
Just see another ‘Robins makes double signing ahead of Scunthorpe’
Me: oooh who’s this?
Oh, it’s drysdale and Chaplin AGAIN.
Absolute shite paper.
The telegraph and CCFC official ought to separate these signings. I get all excited at the headline of a signing to discover it’s a ‘one for the future Under 21 jobbie.
It’s good business sense but not quite the same as signing a first team ready player.
Are we surprised when players leave when they get written off after 20 odd appearances?
I mean, if he was star quality ready he wouldn’t sign for us would he, he’d be higher up the chain. He’s a younger who will develop. I’m backing him.
In 9th place is overachieving for a promoted team who won promotion via the back door last year.
The problem we have and always will have is fans with a mindset of ‘we are Coventry city, we should be higher’
I can see points behind most of the comments on Bayliss good and bad. I’ll keep it simple. He’s one of our own, young and hungry and is an asset to us. Let’s keep coaching and improving him to find consistency which will come with age. Other clubs are keen which tells me enough.
