When one is Allen who you don't really want to be starting and it remains to be seen if Rudoni can play deeper. You then have Sheaf, Eccles, Torp competing for two spots. If any one of them is injured you don't even have a choice which pair to play so you can't rotate based on form or fitness...

We were in for James 3 years ago. We've supposedly progressed in them 3 years and James has declined yet we are still in for him now.

I think so yea, my worry is if we have an awful season players like Wright and Simms will plummet in transfer value if they have poor seasons personally.

Matty James would be a pretty poor indicator of the clubs transfer business in the window just gone.

My over riding concern is that if we are poor this season, then season ticket sales will significantly drop next season. Which in turn may lead to Doug getting cold feet on the 5 year plan and start tightening the budgets and cashing in on top players without significant reinvestment.
