There were plenty using the same argument you are using now for selling MVE on the cheap, that thought we should sell Hamer and Gyokores a year before we did at much lower fees than we eventually got for them.

Yes he was rarely involved, but when he was he seemed to miscontrol the ball or lose possession quite easily. To be fair to him Monaco is a big step up from what he's been playing against and he will hopefully improve, but he seemed way off being a starter come the first game of the season.

Have there been many season long loan signings in the Championship as yet? I get the feeling such deals don't generally get done until closer to the season starting or even after, so if we do sign him it might not be for a while longer.

I remember this, it was first game of the season. Portsmouth were newly relegated from the PL and in financial freefall, but still had some 'name' players in their team, who just weren't interested or motivated. Was as easy a first game win as you could ever hope for.

Nice post, but disagree with your assertion that most of our non season ticket holders look to go to 23 games a season. If you did it would be nuts not to buy a season ticket, particularly if cost was an issue. I think we have plenty of casual supporters who go to up to say 6 games a season...
