Not sure I would. His career has been on a downward trajectory since it peaked during Wigan's F.A. Cup win against Man City in 2013. He hasn't really done anything of particular note since and hasn't played a full season in 5 years. Not the sort of player we want in my opinion.

Agreed, the only way I think it'll effect him coming back if it restricts the contract we're able to offer. Sometimes it helps, but realistically players don't care that much.

That's the issue. There's so many agendas being pushed and so little trust between both parties, any little thing that is suggested or refuted will have to be analysed to a T.

I'd say he's one of the best players in the division but he's not quite Championship quality just yet. He's certainly got the ability so I doubt it'd take him long to reach those standards but in the short team I'd suggest he's a way off from having the 'footballing brain' to establish himself...
