He was able to drop deep a few times to collect the ball and then be able to turn and run at them ,and it led to some of our best moments. I though he played well

I suspect sadly that in the background his agent was touting him around to the highest bidder - seems to me that is the way of modern football. I say sadly not in this specific case but more re football agents in general

I’ll trust our staff if he wasn’t right for us , I’m also generally in favour of not paying over the odds in wages too although sometimes in football it does seem like you need to speculate to accumulate at times. But if it ain’t right that it ain’t right , there will be another one along soon...
