I think it is the thrill seeker in people that interests them in those sort of cars, the fact they are at the cutting edge of design/engineering and quite dangerous. People who buy them don't see it as a waste of money in the same way people don't see it as a waste of money to upgrade the 12"...

I was at Glasto in 2003/2004 but I'm afraid they weren't on my radar at that time, which is a shame.
