Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

CB but can play CDM. Quite often young CBs get chucked in at full back for their first few games as a slightly less critical position if they make any fuck ups

Wilson starting on the opening day

Interesting - what exactly do the studies show? I completely agree that over the course of a game goalies knees do less than outfield players, but the peak forces experienced at the knee will be the same. In other countries maybe, but here he won't be back before 9 months, and more likely 12+.

Wilson starting on the opening day

Wish this were true but modern goalies need to do nearly as much dynamic twisting and turning as outfield players - see the injury incident. He will take about the same amount of time as an outfield player, and won't be allowed to play until he has passed rigorous mentality/confidence testing too

    U18/U21 Development Thread

Be interesting to see the list of new scholars and whether it has changed since I was there - the lads I'm talking about joined the club very early so defo saw L1 days and maybe even L2!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

It's a fair point - in other countries surgeons have slightly different protocols so there is some variation, but I don't know of any Ortho surgeons in the UK the would allow return to sport before 9 month mark. If he does return before 9 months then we are being very experimental... There was...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Yeah will have been in the gym within a fortnight of surgery to do rest of body and within a month to be working on operated knee Even if he is progressing well with rehab it doesn't change the time required for the graft ACL to bed in which is the limiting factor on recovery once strength...

Top Moments in the Footballing Wilderness

Top bloke! Few years back just after Covid he organised a 'London United' tournament to say thanks to NHS staff after the pandemic. Each London Hospital was taken on by a London team, and various former players were brought in to manage their respective team (my hospital was represented by...

World Cup of Coventry City kits (Group A)

Despite the paranormal collar and boxy fit I'm going to sacrifice my hard drive for a kit that reminds me of playing jumpers for goalposts on the green followed by Mum's spaghetti carbonara, and Big Ben Turner and Richard Keogh making heroically clumsy last ditch tackles game after game to give...

    Leicester At It Yet Again!

How many points do we reckon they have gained in the last few seasons with money they weren't allowed to spend? That would be a nice starting point

    Championship thread 25/26!

AI and Sheff Utd are an absolute match made in heaven tbf... One of them an odious offshoot of humanity intent on sucking all joy and creativity out of the world And then AI is pretty similar imo
