If he has a release clause, then that's irrelevant, isn't it? Every bid that meets that cost has to be accepted. Why would anyone offer more? They may do it to drive up personal demands, but not transfer fee.

    Scumberland or Shitefield ?

I don't think anyone could sensibly argue that Sunderland weren't fortunate to progress. Not outrageously so, but still fortunate. Their performance at our place was very good; they did a job, but it was a performance that was looking for a draw. The victory only came because of a bad error...

    Wright

Of course it wasn't. It was a normal Championship year. If you're in the play-offs, then you're good enough to win them. The season goes out the window once you're there; it's come out on top in three games. That's not beyond any team that gets that far.

    Scumberland or Shitefield ?

Something I've noticed is that your emphatic pronouncements on who's going to win a football match invariably turn out to be wrong. On the basis of this, I now fully expect Sunderland to win. For purely pragmatic reasons, I want Sheffield United to not be in the division next season.

    Tavares to Burton Completed

Good luck to him. He was desperately unlucky with injuries, but lacked the physicality to succeed at our level. He's got some qualities, including composure in front of goal, which is gold. Hopefully will find his level and have a decent career.

    Leicester At It Yet Again!

Because they're such big cheating bastards, they should be made to play all their games in gigantic foam clown shoes, a la It's a Knockout.

Right, what's all this about Wright lacking the basics? He's been in poor form, and when he's poor, he disappears within himself and loses heart. However, that doesn't mean he's not a highly talented and dangerous player at this level, as his record with us demonstrates. That he's good enough...

Equal pay is about receiving the same amount for playing for the national team, not club wages, where each individual contract is negotiated independently.

    Callum Doyle

Ah, ok, but point still stands; that they didn't want to take a player on loan that there was no chance of getting permanently. Binks was a weird signing however you want to look at it, though.

    Callum Doyle

It depends. If they were looking at someone to turn from loan to perm, then they may just have thought Doyle out of our means, which would be fair enough. The strange thing is buying Binks when he didn't really do much during the loan.

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 13th May

It didn't help Sunderland get enough points to stay up, certainly. The post you've quoted is correct; it's an example of people finding a way to put the blame elsewhere when they fall short. They're hardly alone in that.

Christ on a fucking bike. That reads like it was written by someone who's proper creepy. You're not on any lists, are you?

They really do. It's a proper dyed-in-the-wool rivalry that goes beyond football.

Released Players or Made Available for Transfer

I think Lampard clearly rates Torp, and he's the one player that we have that can pick a pass through the lines. We could have done with him against Sunderland. Don't think he's going anywhere.

Released Players or Made Available for Transfer

Thing with Allen is whilst he's clearly a very useful squad player, is that what he wants at this stage of his career? He's clearly good enough to be a mainstay in a mid-ranking Championship team.
