Sunderland will be expecting us to go 4-3-3 and play the same as Friday but with more urgency as we see behind. It could be genius for FL to switch to a 5-3-2 to bamboozle them and change formation again during the match if things play out. Just a thought. I think he’ll stick to 4-3-3 anyway but...
Yeah, when I watched it back and didn’t realise how far out he was. He should have turned and pumped it down the line but that’s obviously in hindsight.
I understand why Lamps went for BTA. Speed, movement and into the channels but we need to understand our strategy. Do we want more balls pumped into the box in the air from the wings (seeing as we score from headers) or more in the channels inside and narrow. That would help decide on BTA or Simms
Hard to predict how they will play. They obviously have a lead so no need to push us but the crowd won’t settle for sitting back on a low block strategy either. The longer it stays 0-0, they’ll get nervous or if we get an early goal.
We have to weather the first 20 minutes when their crowd will...
And they hadn’t won at our place since 2007 and then did.
Anything can happen. For what it’s worth, I think they’ll do enough but an early goal from us with 40,000 of them panicking and piling pressure on, against the odds, could all work in our favour
Yeah. I get that and probably more in that bracket but I just wondered if it was a cheap steal that gives us more options in that area should Eccles and sheaf move on
I think we might move Eccles on in the summer and wouldn’t be suprised to see him at Stoke. Not sure if Sheaf stays either but to to give us another number 10 style role to compete with Rudoni, how about Liam Walsh?
cheap, play makes and now in league 1
No pressure on us now. We are expected to lose. They’ll have 40,000 piling pressure on them to get over the line. As long as we don’t concede an early goal, this is far from over
Wright has been shite since his hat trick against these lot.
EMC huffs and puffs but back from injury.
It was a very tight game of fine margins but both keepers had little to do. We were too safe especially first half. You have to utilise the fiery home support for the first 20 minutes and we...
Yeah. What might hinder Wright with bids is that he can have quiet spells and runs of games where he doesn’t give great output.
What do we estimate then
Wright £15-18M
MVE - £12-15M
Rudi £20M
I think both legs will ultimately be tight but if we come out the traps flying with no fear along with our crowd and get an early goal, I could really see us pumping these.
As we saw last night though, moments change games such as the red. Anything can happen. That shot that cannons off the bar...
Agreed. It will be hinged on moments.
An early goal either way or a red card for example.
We could easily pump these 4-0 or equally 0-0. It will be nervy and right. Let’s just enjoy it.
Regardless of what happens, I’m looking forward to seeing who FL brings in, in the summer
