If the next game was midweek, then yes I would agree they would be vulnerable, but a week to recover should be sufficient.
Watford are a formidable team at home and I can see them taking at least a draw against Boro.
Only one match left in October and unless we lose it heavily it’s impossible to see anyone else but Lampard winning it.
Also the win against Millwall was this month.
Have you changed your opinion after yesterday’s games? I’d say Watford will give them all sorts of problems.
Indeed the first two games for them have been far from easy.
I was watching Jordan Henderson playing for Brentford last night and he pretty much performed the Grimes role and ran the game for them.
If Grimes can do similar for a couple of seasons that would be great.
In most cases crosses are not directly targeted for an attacking player, but are put into a danger area where you can feed off a poor clearance if one of your players doesn’t get to it.
How many times this season have we scored goals from exactly that scenario?
Leeds and Burnley had teams and squads far ahead of the rest. As yet we’re not in that position.
The other week we played Leicester and came away with a good point and a similar result at the other two parachute clubs would be on a par with that.
If we back that up with wins at home then...
Agree with most of that, but I do think away draws at two parachute clubs and promotion rivals would be pretty good results.
You can’t reasonably suggest that those games would be anything other than 50/50 in terms of outcome?
Also remember that 2pts per game would be very close to top 2...
Mine goes back a long way. The league cup semi final 2nd leg last minute defeat at West Ham.
It arguably led to the disbanding of the most talented group of young players we’ve ever had.
9 of the goals scored were at the start of October and there were also 3 draws in the month. I do think there should be at least 1 nomination but perhaps that was part of the reasoning.
I notice Lampard wasn’t nominated for manager of the month and no one in the player of the month. I actually think this is good for the motivation of the team and the manager.
