Great to see EMC on bench

Same here. He is developing into a real asset for us. Never doubted his ability, just his desire, but he clearly has that now and he is one of a number of players who deserve a lot of praise for raising their game.

How long is Sheaf out for? Is it possible he might leave this window?

Know he is versatile, but what position has he played most regularly in his career?

Am more amused than horrified by the prospect of him joining... I would say more of a Sean Mcguire punt than Waghorn!

Spot on, sadly. As I am probably older than you, I remember when they had a particularly violent team under Dave Bassett too (they had some notorious players, Billy Whitehurst and Vinnie Jones spring to mind...and of course, a certain Chris Wilder played for them then...)

Let's just hope he has learned from that. FWIW I am more positive about Lampard than most, I think he will make more good decisions than bad in the long term. He will work hard for us, it's in his nature.

Agree - the other thing is Lampard needs to be a shithouse and make a prolonged sub as soon as they get their first / get Dovin to go down with an injury. That actually made me more angry than anything on Saturday evening reflecting on the match. Other teams do it, we are too nice.

Would be more worried about Sheaf going than MVE TBH. That's despite our current lack of genuine options at RB.

TBF (with the exception of Lampard's first win) Sheaf has looked unhappy this season. I think if someone offers £10m he will be off. I might be completely wrong, but he has had the air of someone sulking over not getting a move in the summer. However, I think he has been a really good player...

Wouldn't be surprised to see him go. He is essentially a wing back and we now want to play 4 across the back line. Though he can be exciting going forward, as a defender he can be improved upon. I reckon anything north of £5 million and we'll take it.

Know what you mean... but he is a highly paid professional goalkeeper. He knows the deal about what to expect when he underperforms. I was not at the game and have not seen it on highlights etc. but there were comments on the match thread about him having a bit of a joke with Pompey players...
