We battered them for much of the first half and obviously it’s a totally different game if the ref sends off Hirst but ultimately we were just not good enough to win that.

Yeah so as I was saying, a bad game Alternatively it’s an anti-Coventry conspiracy? Probably the conspiracy I guess.

Could it be - and bear with me on this one - that the ref is just having a bad game?

The ref has been annoying as fuck but this is laughable

Surely we’re playing a RB out wide because we don’t have many wingers? I’m more than comfortable rolling with Eccles and Allen for however long this injury crisis that hasn’t even happened yet lasts.

Can’t think of a key player I’ve been less worried about having backups for.

Assuming we want someone better than Sheaf and PL-ready, that’s not going to be cheap. And if we sign someone only for Grimes to stay fit, are they really going to mostly sit on the bench for five months? I’m not taking Grimes out of the side for any reason.

Why the need for a CM? Despite various injuries we still have a strong starting midfield 3 and various capable backup options on the bench.

I must be the only person on the planet who couldn’t give a shit if Trump gets a made-up peace prize. People seem to be losing their minds.

If the club is letting third parties dictate how many shirts it can sell, that is most definitely the club’s fault.

I personally am quite surprised to hear that demand was “unprecedented” - what kind of demand were they expecting?

The answer you’re looking for is that there’s no controversy over gangland shootings, which everyone agrees are bad and illegal. The President of the United States using such “rough around the edges” (!) language is slightly more contested.

Seems like a pretty big error by the merchandising team to have not secured enough numbers/letters to even get you to Christmas.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I haven’t said anything about the allegations? Look, I actually have some sympathy for the argument that you shouldn’t be judged by what you did as a kid, and if the allegations are shown to be true then it wouldn’t even change my opinion of Farage that much - I doubt it would for many others...

Sorry, you’re going to have to explain to me why Farage shouldn’t be held accountable for what he said as a kid, but an ITV News journalist should be held accountable for what Bernard Manning said before he was even born.

So what exactly is the double standard here? We seem to be in agreement that racist language is bad and the people responsible for it should apologise for it and not be considered credible authority figures - that’s how I feel about BBC executives from the 1970s, anyway.
