I posed the question simply because some seem to assume that the answer is "No". I think that ACL's viability must be impacted by the loss of the club, but to assume that this means that the business is unviable, seems little more than a guess. As for the comparison with the viability of CCFC...

I had the same thought. Does ruling out a "long term return" suggest that they may be open to a "short term return". It's always seemed the most sensible option if both sides can put the bad blood of the past behind them. I know that's quite a big "if", but let's hope.....

Is cowardice a sideshow?

I've no idea what SISU would do if this situation arose, but if they were to decide to charge the club an "extortionate rent" this would be a nil sum game for them, as one of their companies (the club) would be paying it and another (the property owning non-trading subsidiary :)) receiving it...

To be honest, the main thing that the offer does is to highlight the complete absurdity of SISU keeping us in Northampton. But there are very few who need convincing of that (outside the SISU Boardroom :)).

But about different things.

I'd had a (very) small spark of hope that once the JR was out of the way, the two sides might just have got around a table and started to negotiate seriously and sensibly. Not looking too promising........

I think last season started early because of the World Cup. I'd guess that next season will be a week later.
