    Match Thread Preston V City - Tue 28th Feb - 19:45

We seemed to go for decades with no changes and then we get lots of modifications. It still doesn't feel right to me when the kick off goes backwards!

That always used to be the case, but I think that that rule has been changed.

I'm pretty sure that they changed the rules last summer or the one before, so that if the ball hits the ref the game has to be stopped and restarted by a drop ball.

    Shooting practice

Given our existing issues with hamstrings and muscle tears, I'm not sure that would be such a good idea...

Wasn't that one a drop ball because it hit the ref?

    Home v Sunderland 12.30, Sky, £33 a ticket

I can't say that I've looked at ticket sales on a Monday before, but my impression is that they're going fairly well. Might be a decent crowd.

Going back a bit, but (as I recall) we lost 1-2 to them in 1976 (?). I think it was the game where Ian Wallace made his debut, coming on as a half time substitute, In my memory, the second half was us pounding them but not managing to get an equaliser.

He’s attended at least some of the recent Legends’ Days. Had a couple of brief chats with him - seemed a good guy.

Kasey Palmer Fined for Scoring in Training?

Apparently it was a brilliant overhead kick, but it left him limping afterwards. Presumably fined for risking an injury

True. if my memory is correct, in the Forest game back at the start of last season we were losing 0-1 and everything felt a bit flat and then Singers Corner started up with Twist & Shout, which went on for quite a while. Everything seemed to pick up and the rest is history. I’m not suggesting...

Fair enough. Apologies for my misinterpretation. I'm not trying to defend him against all-comers, but given the timescales involved with the takeover, I'm not sure what more he could have practically done with the CBS.

Didn't worry me. I took it to be an "I don't want to talk about that" answer. If he'd said he was going ahead with the new stadium, it sets a short (ish) term for negotiations with Fraser Group, where they may be less inclined to give us a deal that works for both parties. If he'd said the...

Interesting comparison with SISU. Their starting point generally seemed to be belligerence - "...batter people in court" etc He seemed to be trying to build bridges. If you're going to be across the table negotiating with someone, better to start by being polite about them rather than telling...

Not seen a great deal of Eccles in his preferred position, but been more than happy with what I have seen. Reckon that the management team But they were players signed from other clubs, not ones that the Manager had watched in training every day for years. If new contracts were being offered to...
