    new statement

Seems like there's a lot of huff and puff about statements made by councillors etc about safeguards for the club(s), but quotes like that from individuals are not enforceable just as when MP's say daft shit it can't be taken as being the policy of their party. Otherwise CCFC could sue Tim Fisher...

That would be a better way forward I reckon. I think it's likely to become more amenable to Wasps over time if their finances are deteriorating as has been speculated, but in that scenario SISU are much less likely to go for that deal because they'll see another chance to financially distress...

    Death List 2019

Given the apparently tragic circumstances of his death maybe, but I think he's got perfect funeral entrance and exit music in Breathe and Firestarter. I remember Out of Space being on one of my first Now cassettes and my sister thought #pay close attention# was #hey close the kitchen# so I did...

    Groundshare back on

With this 6 miles business, which apparently only Fisher and Boddy have mentioned but no-one seems to be able to find in the actual EFL rules. So it must have just been a verbal thing between EFL and Fisher. If not, why hasn't Fisher just produced the paperwork proving it has to be within 6...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Burton Albion Match Thread - Friday 8th Mar

Think it's most likely to be another close scrappy low-scoring game, but at home I'm confident of a win. Quite happy to keep the team unchanged, but bringing Thomas back in wouldn't be a bad option.

    Tuesday 5th March

I think that if it got to the start of the season they'd play that season with 44 league games (i.e. no-one plays us) instead of 46 and then reduce the number of clubs relegated at the end of that season by one for the following season. Tomorrow is deadline for an update and I can't see them...

Celtic Are They A Huge Club ?

I would describe them as big, but not huge. As they are I reckon they'd be on a par with the middle-lower teams in the Prem BUT if they were in the Prem and had access to that cash they could definitely be top 6. Probably attract a big investor too which could push them into huge club territory.

    Tommy Robinson

Yeah - Mafia are famously religious. Use it as an excuse to go to confession, say a few Hail Mary's and that's it. Conscience is clear, all is forgiven and Heaven awaits cos I paid a pathetic penance. Religion can make people do very good things and be philanthropic that they wouldn't otherwise...

    When You Retire ?

I meant higher rate would start at £50k next year, taking into account personal allowance, not the tax rate. Sorry! Even the additional rate isn't 50% at the moment, but as that for £150k+pa I'm going to assume most people aren't going to be that affected by it!

    When You Retire ?

It's why, for all the faults of the NHS, I think it's a far better system than private healthcare like the USA. Effectively your right to health is linked to how rich you are, and that is just massively wrong. They can pass laws letting the air you breathe and water you drink be polluted, your...

    When You Retire ?

Yeah, the tax advantages are another great reason to do so. This can change but they tend to want people to invest for retirement so don't mess about too much with the tax breaks (but do from time to time just to see what they can get away with). Think Higher rate tax will be £50k as of next year

    When You Retire ?

Yep - the amount the pension is reduced by when taking the tax free quota is neglible, and given it's tax free is effectively nothing. If you can afford to set it aside and re-invest the tax free sum it's a far better return.

    When You Retire ?

Definitely - the earlier you do it the longer the pot gets invested and the more you get to retire on. No idea how old you are or if you're employed/self-employed but if you're an employee definitely look at a works pension if for no reason than the contributions your employer will make too. Put...

    The goal keeping situation

Assuming Burge was informed he would be back-up he wouldn't sign a new deal and look elsewhere - he won't want to go back to a back-up (unless someone offered him really silly money and I can't see that happening). If he signed a contract without being informed and then this kind of deal was...

Match Thread Accrington Stanley vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Mar

Everything points to this being a dreary game - probably a goal either way or even 0-0. We can play some nice possession football but unless we put our shooting boots on for once I can just seen them being organised and letting us pass it around. I'd definitely go Meyler/Kelly in midfield to...

    The goal keeping situation

MR probably knows that we could improve in terms of the goalkeeping position (well, we could improve in every position really) but it all comes down to money - what Burge wants and what other keepers MR identifies as improvements want. MR could decide to release all three keepers in the summer...

now it’s becoming a reality moving from the ricoh - Letter from EFL to CCFC

Played out with JR1. This was then just followed up with JR2 from a different angle. If that is rejected next month I wouldn't be in the least surprised if they put forward a JR3 for some completely different reason to continue the process. The 'it will never end' was hyperbole and I think you...

now it’s becoming a reality moving from the ricoh - Letter from EFL to CCFC

That could be going on for a decade or more. The legal process has played out and SISU. But all they then do is attempt to start it all over again and take it right back to the beginning with 'new information' or arguing a totally different point. Even if SISU won one of their challenges this...

Match Thread Luton Town vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 24th Feb

Starting to fill his frame. Kelly and Meyler have filled out their 6'2'' frames. I think Meyler may not last the 90mins, but hopefully he'll do enough during his time on the pitch to tire Luton out and allow Bayliss to come on and concentrate more on his creative talents than fighting a...
