Spot on. Barton deserves a mention too.

    Formation and style of play?

Today was a bit different to what I have seen recently. Seemed we were actively trying to play higher up the pitch and press in the final third - the result was Doncaster kept giving the ball away and we had a lot of possession 1st half. Final ball needs working on, and second half we drifted...

    Stuart Linnell should be sacked

I don't know why any of you listen to the phone-in. It's mind-numbing on a good day. Stopped listening to it years ago for my own sanity. At least on here if you disagree you can argue your point. Some plank says something on the radio you have no comeback and just end-up banging your head...

    Credit where it's due

I enjoyed today. Decent performance, great 3 points, atmosphere decent (by recent standards) and quite good humoured too. None of the in-fighting we saw against Hartlepool. Even the Guinness in the casino was half-decent (a proper first) Just a day out at the football really. What's it all...

    Beer before Walsall game

Yeah, a few of us will be in the Shakespeare from early. Just 2 stops to Bescot from NS.

    Coventry vs Doncaster match thread

Looked about 11K to me based on what I have seen this season, but with all that POTG and no on site TO I guess it'll take while to work it out. Strange the tunrnstile I went through wasn't working, and somebody who entered at the other end of the ground said the same thing. Probably just a...

    Presley post match

For the 1st hour I was impressed with us today; we were pressing high up the pitch for the 1st time this season at home. Stopped playing a bit towards the end, but chuffed with that overall.

    Crowd tomorrow??

I'm trying my best to whip up a bit of enthusiasm. It's a struggle though. Looking forward to Monday though, regardless of the situation. Few beers in Brum, healthy following. Should be a good day.

    Crowd tomorrow??

Well, I know about 7 or 8 people going today who don't normally (5 from out of town who are back for Easter) and a couple of others who usually work Saturdays. Genuinely don't think it will be as bad as all that. I hope not anyway.

    Fans who called for admin

Failure? Oh absolutely, they have mismanaged the club, no question. But then, we haven't had a top 6 finish for 43 years, so that mismanagement goes back a long way unfortunately. I yearn for the day we have owners with vision, but they need money to back that up (even more than SISU). I...

    Crowd tomorrow??

Why is that? Not a dig, just genuinely interested.

    Fans who called for admin

My ideal scenario would have been that a deal was done on the rent, we avoided admin but that it was made clear to SISU that neither ACL nor Higgs would consider selling them a stake in the Arena. Their only option to get any sort return on their investment would have been either to be steer...

    Afc mercia

Why would the 20th best supported football team in England (based on historical averages so don't shoot me) need to amalgamate with anyone? Your response to those 'killing the club' is to kill the club and disassociate the new club from the city of Coventry entirely? Apart from all that it's a...

    3 tickets for Monday

No, but short of driving to Walsall tomorrow no way of getting tickets. They did briefly go back on sale last night on ccfcshop so at least some will have been able to get them who might otherwise have missed out.

    Well done sisu

In 10 years we never made the top 6 once (and that is quite hard to do), and many people were OK with that and expected it and always found an excuse for it. During that time many teams with smaller gates (sometimes much smaller), and smaller playing budgets, managed a top 6 finish and some...

    Sky Sports posts

This from a Crewe fan: It's disgraceful Only 10 points? Coventry had little chance of making the play-offs and with the deduction even then not likely to go down So they start next season with a lot of debt cleared and no real penalty. It should be at least one league demotion or more points...

Once every 40 years, whats Platini on about ?

Who says? They don't have Hawk-Eye at Bedworth Cricket Club, or on the Memorial Park tennis courts for that matter. Equally, video replays in Rugby only happen at the top level. Nothing to say you could not install this on the international/European stage and then allow national leagues to...

    Crowd tomorrow??

True, but as I said in the other thread, the last Good Friday game played at home 2 seasons ago there was an above average crowd. I don't think the GF thing will effect the gate at all, but all the other factors might. Remains to be seen. I certainly hope people don't turn their back on the...

    Coventry vs Doncaster match thread

Equally, quite a few who can make today who cannot normally. I think we played Scunthorpe at home on Good Friday a couple of seasons back and there were nearly 17K there. Think about 12K today, but a guess.

    Coventry vs Doncaster match thread

I prefer to take the glass half-full view Otis. Pressure off, so the players might relax. Fans might rally today, and impromptu display of solidarity. I think the atmosphere will be OK and the turnout decent.
