Depends on how the defensive tactic works....

If I remember correctly weren't Luton much better than us and controlled most of the game last year but we ended up winning 3-0? Or is that me having sky-blue tinted specs and wishful thinking?

How often does it work though? When it does loads is made of it, but it probably works once in every 20-25 games

Never understood why teams think trying to defend against attacking teams is a good thing to do - it's playing right into their hands. It's like seeing a structural beam bowing and thinking "I know - I'll add more weight onto it"

Bollocks! Thought we'd scored then. Anyone at the game able to tell if it went in?

Sounds like we're giving them a attack on defence training session. Poor start - only good thing is we've not conceded.

I've only got the radio so I'm not going to repeat that as it's likely inaccurate. It's Wich rather than Eakin though so factually might be a bit better.

Reckon it's a 4-3-3/4-5-1 with front three of Thomas, JCH and Hiwula. Hope it's more 4-4-2 with JCH and Hiwula as a front two. If Baka's not injured that's incredibly harsh. Thought he did enough to keep his starting place so to not even make the squad is very surprising. Seems clear that MR...

    Doyler

I don't think it is a temporary dip in form. Even from the start of the season it's been mentioned that Doyle was being less effective and opposition teams were just bypassing him. That meant him dropping deeper and thus everyone else dropped deeper too leaving the likes of JCH ploughing a lone...

    U23 v Palace

I wasn't expecting him to play - trialist keeper I'd expect to play the whole game regardless. I just always like the option of the sub keeper on the bench and I like the younger lads being involved in the higher age groups where they can. Not a big deal and wasn't needed.

    U23 v Palace

Seems like an exciting game. Thought they'd have put Bilson on the bench given U18 aren't playing until new year now as far as I know (unless they've got postponed games rescheduled)

    Jodi Jones ACL

Gutted for the lad, and for the team. As has been mentioned I really hope that his mental wellbeing is given as much attention as his physical rehab. The first time would be hard enough to get through, a second knowing full well what it entails with the fear it may go again must be torturous...

WHAT? Where the hell have I said I WANT the club to die? You're just making a narrative up in your own head now.

Who’s your forwards for the next game?

I have wondered how we might do if we had Doyle pushed up just battling for the knock downs? He's not got the legs for the running around now, and his passing has always been a bit wayward unless it's very unadventurous sideways stuff, so having him collect the ball off the toes of the back four...

Who’s your forwards for the next game?

A bit like the Armstrong/Kent/Murphy/Maddison thing? Yeah, that could cause a lot of problems at this level as you've got a good mix of abilities there - pace, movement, skill on the ball. I guess with the current line-up their equivalents would be Chaplin/Thomas/Hiwula/Bayliss. Just wish...

Who’s your forwards for the next game?

Not until next season, or at the very most end of this season if we've nothing to play for. Want to keep your powder dry on him. If an offer came in for Bayliss in the summer I could see MR being tempted to let him go with Burroughs and N'Gandu coming through. Quite probable we'll see at least...

    Bakayoko at Walsall

I don't think MR had much say on signings that much other than Chaplin, which was probably to ease his frustration at losing McNulty. He's seemed less than enthused by both Hiwula and Baka, and he's pretty much openly said that all the U23 development signings were down to recruitment rather...

    Ponti

I still think we'd have been better served at least having him on he bench. One thing we're struggling with is putting the ball in the net and it's what he does best. Reckon by the end of the season he'd be at the very least rotating with Chaplin.
