    Call it now

Rotherham will take some catching now. It's essentially a 9 point gap because of their superior goal difference. Games in hand or not, it'll be tough to catch them, as they're looking strong. Our game against them is huge. Autos has to be the aim, we're certainly good enough. Gut says playoffs...

Some of our fans are garbage

Tbf, I've just been scrolling through twitter and have seen nothing but giddy excitement. I don't see much bitching at all, but there is an expectation that something will go wrong, an ingrained pessimism. That Mowbray season is still pretty fresh in the memory (even if the signs are that we...

Some of our fans are garbage

I had a mate who liked a good moan, used to wind me up no end, but the moment anyone from outside the city had a pop he'd go all Scrappy Doo.

Some of our fans are garbage

Mistrust of anything new? Coventry has gone through and has been accepting of more change than pretty much any other city I can think of. We're a very adaptable and resilient bunch. We're going round in circles anyway so should just agree to disagree. I see people moan about stuff like students...

For which you have no evidence beyond the anecdotal. How can you possibly gauge how the citizens of Stoke on Trent feel unless you spend loads of time there? I used to work for a company based in Swindon. The locals were scathing about the place. It used to depress me that much that I started...

Some of our fans are garbage

Cov didn't even make the book iirc. For a medium-sized, post-industrial city, Cov is an alright place if you look at it objectively, certainly on economic measures. If you look at it subjectively, then for me, it's the centre of the known universe.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bolton Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 8th Feb

7 from 3 would be decent. We're going to need 2ppg from now, so it would be great if we could get ahead of the run rate. Playing the bottom 2 is a great chance to get points on the board and put pressure on those around us.

Some of our fans are garbage

Well fortunately not many of our players would have been on the Facebook page at that moment. That place is a cesspit at the best of times. At games though, the support has been the most positive I can remember in all the years following the club. And of course, call out idiots slating players...

Some of our fans are garbage

That's batshit. Comments re missed chances made on an internet forum are effecting our promotion chances. You're trolling right? In all my years watching City I can't remember the support in the ground being as positive as it has been this season. At Bristol on Saturday, at 1-0 down, I didn't...

What are you on about? Bending stats? The comment made was that we are a very good side, but that we should temper that a little because we're not all conquering and we're perhaps not the position we should be based on the quality we have. That's not 'moaning', it's just an observation.

It is going that way. If you don't stick rigidly to the 'we're amazing', 'best season eva', '2-tone tiki taka' mantras you're seen as some sort of blasphemer. FWIW, I think we're a very good side and I often wax-lyrical about the way we play. But, I'm also aware that we only win 4 games out...

Some of our fans are garbage

That's just crap. We have backed the team all the way this season. Robins gets his name sung every game. The players get great support from the stands. Baka, Max and Godden all get lauded from the stands. The fact that some people discuss certain players and sometimes post criticism on an...

    Match Thread Birmingham match thread

Bizarre that people are gutted to go out like that, after all that effort over 2 games? What player destroying anyway? It stings, and people are just frustrated. We're not all emotionless Mr Spocks.

    Match Thread Birmingham match thread

I'm always surprised how easily some people take defeat and how they can be so indifferent so quickly. To go out like that stings like hell, and while they may be right regarding the league being the priority etc., let people vent a bit FFS.

Thing I can't get my head around is the muted celebrations from the city fans. Seen wilder scenes at an U11s game. Not like us.

Understand Walsh being rested, but surprised to see Allen on the bench, he's hardly played. Ah well, it's a free hit as others have said and it looks like we're going to have a go tonight.
