Because sponsors, who pay a lot of money to have their name on the shirt, want to see that shirt all over the sport pages of the press whenever their team scores. If players rip the shirt off, then the sponsors miss out on the publicity and advertising opportunity.

It's unforgivable to get a booking for taking your shirt off while celebrating a goal. I know footballers aren't the brightest, but you'd of thought by now, they'd of cut this out.
