There's a big difference between honouring his existing contract (which I don't think anyone here is saying we won't or shouldn't do) and giving him a new one, esp right now when we have no idea what the prognosis will be. Wait until nearer the end to see how it develops. We gave him one last...

    Jodi

One thing in his favour is that this one doesn't seem as severe as the previous and if he could recover from that there's a very good chance he'll be able to do so now, esp given his age. Most important thing is to work out why he keeps doing it. Issue might not be getting back from the injury...

    Maybe two more...

But if he used that pace to make runs in behind rather than just close down it would give the opposition another thing to worry about, maybe making them drop a yard or two deeper and thus give us more space to pass it around.

    US presidential Election 2020

That would probably be the most likely way to prevent it, even though it would effectively be an admission of guilt and many democrats would want to see as many charges against him as possible if for no other reason than they can sneer at the Trumpians at how they supported a massively dishonest...

    US presidential Election 2020

Not in the truest sense but if Trump loses you will see members of his base armed and on the streets 'defending democracy' because he's claimed the vote was rigged. He will not take it gracefully. You could argue a Cold Civil War is already well underway there and is looming here.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

The only way something like this would be even remotely feasible is if the virus has some sort of chemical signature that could be detected by a breathalyser. To my knowledge that isn't the case (although I did hear they were going to look into training dogs to detect corona)

The one in the park next to the pond. He's feeding the ducks.

He doesn't have any, but he does say it's his opinion. What evidence is there to suggest he WOULD'VE made an impact in the Championship? As much as to suggest he wouldn't. Last we've really seen of him competitively was three years ago in a league two levels below this. Two years prior to that...

    Jodi

We did that last year. Gave him a new deal to set his mind at ease, which was the right thing to do I reckon. But you can't do it again. What about other players that have suffered a single bad injury and are released - why shouldn't they get a new deal for their state of mind? If you do it...

Or by what's been going on with the protests, US army and state forces WITH a few nutters with guns.

    US presidential Election 2020

Shame he couldn't keep hold of it like with the Hillary thing last time. Release it a day or two prior to the election to maintain impact. Will amost certainly have been forgotten about by election day.

Guaranteed, because whatever happens Trumps will try and grab it with or without consent.

    Most likely the second option.

    US presidential Election 2020

Trump refusing to go if he loses is a nailed on certainty. He's already prepping his base with calls of postal votes being fraudulent. Amazing as when electoral fraud is discovered it's more likely to be by republicans. He's even openly told them to break the law and vote twice by post and in...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Is anyone really that surprised that Johnson is reneging on a Withdrawal Agreement given the number of kids he has?

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

With the 'festival' where they're asking for creatives to come up with things to 'heal' the country... As the entire point of Brexit has supposedly been to regain our sovereignty and control of our laws, why not have that celebration as geting parliament to use those powers to pass bills...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

So it could prevent the opening up of the NHS? Mind you, I'm sure if they knew there was money to be made they'd find a loophole round it.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It's pie in the sky. It'd be great if it were possible but logistically and financially it's a non-starter. Add to his list of crackpot ideas like a bridge to Ireland, the Estuary airport, the garden bridge, bendibuses....

World Rugby bans trans females from the women's game

I'm guessing with the transgender divisions you'd have to have one male to female and one female to male to allow for the biological differences. Would there also be different levels like at the paralympics for those at different stages of transition?
