It has been on the rise since the referendum for a few reasons. First things was after Cameron made all these promises and then as soon as they voted no the conversation turned almost instantly onto the effect on England. Brexit also had an effect, voting Remain yet the UK as a whole voted to...

I'm sorry for your loss. Someone dying of heart failure could also be linked to Covid though. It affects the ability of the body to absorb oxygen. Less oxygen means the heart beats faster to try and get sufficient oxygen. This puts extra pressure on an already weak heart. It may well have...

But how can you keep selling decent strikers if you're not replacing them? To keep selling them you have to keep producing/buying them. Otherwise the chain of events would be: 1. Sell decent striker 2. Don't replace him 3. Have no decent striker to sell

Before anyone gets too carried away about last nights results let's not forget they were playing Chelsea, their two centre backs were suspended, they still created chances (but failed to put them away) and the first four gaols were all defensive errors brought about by high energetic pressing...

    Mars helping to end racism

I opened this wondering if we were sending the racists on a rocket into outer space. But I guess they'd be up in arms about being sent to the Red Planet. It'd have to be the White Planet.

Doing Transfers Differently - Sky Sports article with Chris Badlan

They would, but purely for financial reasons. They all want their team to produce a Class of 92 or some hidden lower league gem but only if they were capable of the same standard as those established. Often they're not and the shareholders won't accept poorer results to bring them on. Like all...

    Soccer

I was talking in general about British fans. I'm not, although I do hate Champions League which is filled with more teams who aren't champions than are.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

That's the entire point of it. Can't renationalise them cos then when things improve their rich mates can't profit from it.

    Shankland

But if we're buying players on installments and selling them on the same terms then there is still an equivalence between ins and outs, just with lower figures at the immediate time. Of course it does assume that term lengths etc are similar but you'd imagine they would be there or thereabouts.

That's the thing that we find annoying - their 'football'. It should've be called something else leaving football free to be used for the game played with the feet.

Binge watched series 2 of Ghosts. Very enjoyable and more like a proper old sitcom. Also a rarity in that it's one you could watch as a family. Only a couple of swear words and some 'Mrs Slocombe's Pussy' level double entrendre.

    Fans back in !!! kinda

Although I think the chairman is putting a positive spin on the situation and being a bit economical with the truth with no fans in you would probably see an increase in subscriptions to ifollow etc to offset slightly, but obv nowhere near making up what'd be lost in revenue. Also, matchday...

    Trimming

Well that's the thing. Max can pop up with the occasional worldie which is memorable but as has been said if his build up play is more laboured and prevents us from having quicker breakaways attacks that could result in more goals are we gaining or losing? Because those chances are never created...

    Fankaty Dabo

Could we replace him for that though? I'd hope we wouldn't sell anyone this window who was first team or close to it, because if they have a good half season by Jan they could go for double what they'd go for now as they'd have some proven quality and consistency at this level.

Kastaneer may well be a case to show how much we use the analytics. I imagine in those Kastaneer comes very high, but it's the 'intangibles' that have made him unsuccessful - attitude, work ethos etc. So while I'm happy for the vast majority of our scouting to be done on database stuff as you're...

I don't think it's necessarily the term 'soccer' being used over there it's that 'football' isn't, which is played predominantly with the hands. If football and soccer were interchangeable like here there wouldn't be an issue.
