    Gyokeres Deal Details

Watching us lose a shoot out at Wembley was painful. But I’ve stood on the Spion Kop watching us lose in the Simod Cup to Ipswich in -5 degrees with Lloyd McGrath breaking his leg and it started to rain. It was still a good day at Wembley however it finished!

A £3.5m punt!! Glorious. I remember when we were signing Peter Ramage.

We’ll see. I’ll take the sell on % though.

    Gyokeres Deal Details

Crikey, I enjoyed Gyokeres’s time here as much as anyone but he’s never a top level prem striker.

    Transfer targets

King got £35m for Gyokeres and Hamer so I’ve got no worries about his negotiating skills. The only summer signing that’s underperformed for me is Simms and he’s not had much time. Clubs like us really can’t spend as much as we bring in. That’s how we survive. If we spend £5m in Jan I’ll be more...

How many Brazilians can you name that have played for us?

    Who takes the next penalty?

Go to your best technical player. Sheaf

    First 3 names on teamsheet

    Sheaf, Wright, Kitching.

    Recruitment has been shocking

One of the big upgrades is having our own players. Norton-Cuffy, Wilson-Esbrand, McNally, Doyle, Panzo. Some good quality but your always rebuilding when you have a lot of loans.

We simply have to climb the table at some point

I think we’ll go on a bit of a run in the next few games. Back 4 starting to settle. Robins will string Allen/Eccles/Sheaf across the midfield and put O’Hare in behind Simms and Wright. I fancy us to win a fair % of the games pre and over Xmas.

    How will it end?

The smart money is on planet earth being absorbed by the sun and incinerated in nano seconds in an apocalyptic super event which will see only Peter Billing and Ray Woods survive.

    How much dosh?

Championship wise we’ve tried the journeyman manager route. Remember Coleman, Dowie, Boothroyd etc etc. None a patch on Robins

    Hamer back?

Don’t think it will happen but I’d welcome him with open arms.

    How much dosh?

I’d say 6-7 million. We only need a net increase of one midfielder. And I’d go for a prem cf on loan using Ayari’s wages who is send back.

    Time to part ways…

He hasn’t spent anything. He’s sat on £15m. That aside I’d say of the big cash outlays if you sold in Jan you’d be looking at a profit on Thomas, Kitching, Lats, Sakamoto and Collins. Accept the jury being out on Wright and Simms but from Kings point of view I’d say he’s in a good place.

    Time to part ways…

OK, so if you ignore the utter shambles Robins had as a backdrop when taking us from L2 to the brink of the Premier League surely King is still happy. We’ve just sold £35m of talent which means after his outlay King has roughly £15m profit sat there in his bank account - earned by Robins. King...

    Time to part ways…

Let’s be clear. What Robins has done here since taking over is miraculous. They ought to offer him a contract that just runs until he decides to retire.

    This forum ….

So it’s acknowledged that his selection was wrong. We missed a pen. And we were still only narrowly edged out away by 2nd in the league. And we’ve just won a couple on the bounce. I reckon we win a fair proportion of our next games.

Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

Kitching will end up being a Rolls-Royce. Team is shaping up nicely and really don’t get the negativity.
