Match Thread Coventry City - Huddersfield Town Match Thread - Monday 25th Sep

A 1-0 off Simms beard will do me. Just please drop Palmer, and give Tatsu a go. PUSB.

How many minutes before writing off a player?

I said it in January, and I’ll say it again: the signs are not awfully encouraging at the minute, however I’d love for the team to prove me wrong. Preferably before March. Love it.

    The season ahead......

That’s a definite possibility, however, it’s more of a ‘hope’ than ‘he will be the same player’. Even if he can just do a fraction of what he used to IE drawing players away, out of position, it’ll open up the opposition a bit. Right now, we’re just flat and clueless.

    The season ahead......

Totally unconvinced so far, but then, I suppose patience is required. It could all click into place, once that ‘rhythm’ is established. Really looking forward to COH coming back, when he’s up to speed.

    Signs are looking good

Such a contrast of opinions, however, some merit can be found in both positive and pessimistic camps, I feel. MR sticks infuriatingly with his favourites, and is still obdurate with tactical substitutions l, which have cost us occasionally. The dearth of creativity in midfield is obvious, and...

Top 100 Cov players of all time

All sorts of wrong, unfortunately, but if it’s opinion-based, then it’s his choice.

    Record signing top 10

Yes, McAllister was £3m, definitely. That article mentioned David Thompson for £3.5m, which i think is probably wrong. It was more £2.5m from what I remember.

    Record signing top 10

I seem to recall Moldovan being signed for £3 mil, and Jarni for £2.7 mil. Those were the released fees at the time, anyhoo. We made a profit on both, I’m quite sure. Gary Breen was £2.5/£3 mil wasn’t he? Gary McAllister was a tidy £3 mil, also.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

The question of confidence keeps popping up - I would imagine that the staff are doing all they can to get/keep his confidence up, as a striker with an unfathomably hanging head is a waste of a space on the team sheet. Either he wants to succeed, and be an integral part of the team, or he...

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

61 league games in his career, with 21 goals to his name - slightly better than 1 in 3. I’ll tentatively predict 12-14 goals for Simms this season. ⚽️

    Transfer Rumour Adem Zorgane

He was linked with Lyon earlier in the year, but that came to nothing. Wide player or central?

    Transfer Rumour Palmer to Norwich

When COH returns, and with Tatsu as a back up, and Ayari being deployed as a ‘10’ rather than an ‘8’ already, would Palmer truly be missed? Personally, despite being of the opinion that he’s a talented, technical player, his lack of actual assists, tracking back and his mediocre fitness (that...

I’d be disappointed if there wasn’t at least one proper handbags-at-dawn scuffle, just for entertainment value.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

This feels like an Alan Partridge pitch, in a hired room in a Travel Lodge - to Lynn and a guy in his 60’s falling asleep. 👍🏻 2-0 City by the way. PUSB ⚽️

Agreed, although a replacement is very obviously needed.

I thought this myself, it all sounded very open. We’re getting there, but we’re lacking a cutting edge at the moment.
