I’m sure it’s far more nuanced than that. For a start there are sizeable operating losses to cover. They will then make a business decision. Rushworth has the possibility of being a huge saleable asset in the future so King will find 5.5m. That £5.5m won’t be made available for a “kitty”. King...
I think if we could move Simms on we should. But as far as the CF role goes I think BTA got a bit of a bad press last year. Often out of position. When he did play central he looked dangerous. The priority should be more depth at CH. Thomas and Kitching are ok. Beyond that we’re struggling.
Got to love the certainty now it’s happened that we won’t be starting with Wilson. Negotiations with Rushworth don’t go well and we do start with Wilson.
The strikers arent shit at all. Even Simms who most would acknowledge has come in for some stick is a proven championship striker. It’s a fact. So are Wright and BTA. We can improve there but to say they are shit is ridiculous
This is the rumour of the close season so far. Someone who we’ll never sign and if we did sign would never play rumoured to be coming on a pay as you play basis that they’d never accept and wouldn’t earn anything from anyway.
I think I’d prefer the loan option. As long as that means we can spend the £5.5m elsewhere. Of course it could be that we signed KKH after our 5.5m was turned down and it is part of the same money.
It is nearly the same 11. But Thomas has progressed as have EMC, Saka, Kitching and Rudoni. Plus we’ve added KKH, Brau and Grimes. And we got to the play offs - let’s not forget.
As it stand out first 11 could be
Wilson
Ewijk Thomas Kitching Brau
Sheaf Grimes
Rudoni
Saka Wright Mason-Clarke
When you write it down that’s a promotion 11
Our problem at left back last season was that our left backs weren’t good enough. Dasilva is never going to be defensively sound. Tidy on the ball, yes, to be relied on to prevent goals, no. Bidwell in the second half of the season looked shot.
