Would disagree, while the midfield is being stretched, we are playing to counter them but it should be the other way around, I think with Andreu and nazon would put us on the front foot more, and we wouldn't be so stretched.
Think last season we would have been 2-0 down already, players haven't let their heads drop so that is a good sign, and they keep trying things and going which is good
Seems to be a theme, we knock it long for the first half an hour, doesn't really work, and then we start to play and do well. Same happened against Notts county
So unlucky!
Good cross by Kelly, Vincenti head it's back across, beavon volleys keeper saves, and McNulty tries to poke it in, but defender makes a great block
Didn't have anything else on, nobody in the box, beavon was the closest person to him, and he was marked, would have been a waste to hold it up as more Newport players were getting back quicker than we were. Right decision, wrong execution
McNulty and beavon just both so out of the game, need somebody to link the play, begging for Andreas, or even Stevenson for a bit of calm in the middle of the park
I agree he is useful on set plays, but he isn't winning anything in the final third for us, and there is a lot of space if we can get it down and control the play a bit
Mainly Kelly tbh, think the spaces are too large between the players, need to get closer to each other.
Also doubling up on jones, need someone on the other wing to take advantage
