    Cost of Obesity

Ah at this school the school lunches are free. Yep absolutely undeniable, need to feed and sustain the body properly, but sadly as you say the facilities aren’t there for schools, and the parents don’t do enough to help it either.

    Camwell

Stokes has been decent all season. Hasn’t hit the heights of Mowbray season, but he is part of the best defence in the league. He was never a game changer, or a played that bombed up and down all game. He is a solid 6/7 every week.

    Cost of Obesity

That’s why he said to reduce child benefit tbf? So parents get less money to buy food for them and instead they have to eat what the school provide. However you are right, think only 12 people across whole of mums primary school eat school meals, rest bring their own.

    Cost of Obesity

I agree, it’s not hard, but as you say it’s easier to buy junk food and take aways than cook at home, so they get used to bad food at home, and then expect it at school as well.

    Cost of Obesity

Good idea in principle to be fair, but as I say my mum is a head teacher and the chocolate ban went down badly I do wonder how well telling parents that the school will feed their child goes down. She has said to me that she has had parents moaning and having a go, because she is telling the...

    Cost of Obesity

Don’t be daft? I speak from personal experience? I have suffered anxiety, I have had a girlfriend who has had eating disorders, and anxiety in an extreme case. Also a lot of my friends have suffered with depression, and so have a lot of personal experience. It’s not daft it’s an opinion. I...

    Cost of Obesity

Nothing wrong with foreigners using it, if they have a right too. Freeloaders I’m not okay with. But I don’t have a problem with fatties using the NHS as such, I just think that something needs to be done, about growing obesity.!

    Cost of Obesity

Yes there are a small amount of people that fall into a different catergory, but a large amount I would say 85/90% are obese because of their own lifestyle and not health or genetics. Of course as a society we don’t help, but we also don’t help, in the sense that we mollycoddle people when...

    Cost of Obesity

No doubt better mental health care is needed, but think younger generations are getting weaker, and I include myself in that, have had anxiety, but imo I think more and more people are getting themselves into mental health problems. I’m not saying this is you ofc and I do have empathy for what...

    Cost of Obesity

Self-righteousness? Really? This is the problem, people don’t see being overweight as a problem until it effects their health. Not all fat people are a burden on the NHS, but undoubtedly a lot are. Yes smoking too, I’m sure somebody will pipe up and say the tax it gains outweighs the cost (I...

    Cost of Obesity

Yeah that does sound a lot different to even when I was at school a decade ago. And it does sound promising. An hour a day! Wow that’s definelty a lot more. I think we did 2 sessions a week. Yeah exactly. When I was working at the pub the amount of parents that came in regaurly after school...

    Cost of Obesity

I agree, my Mother who is a primary school head teacher, recently had to enforce a chocolate ban, which is a good step. However as you say it is all to do with people getting fast food, or most snacky food, the fat food is a lot cheaper. Yeah exactly hate people like that. Can afford cigs and...

    Cost of Obesity

Oh absolutely, no doubt, it goes all the way to the top. I was watching a police programme the other day and a police officer could barely run 200 metres before being out of breath.

    Cost of Obesity

There was a piece in the Gaurdian today about the cost of obesity hitting $1.2 trillion world wide by 2025. In Britain it is 19 billion at the moment and it will rise to 31 billion. The chief executive of the NHS, has warned that obesity threatens to bankrupt the NHS. Just really pisses me off...
