    Spent £10m on L1 players

I was wondering if it was instructions as we've had two or three players do the same in that right attacking position. Though if it is I'm amazed the coaching staff are persisting with it given how many problems it's caused us.

Don't think you can justify playing Torp ahead of Rudoni. I'd like to see Torp play a bit further forward to see if it helps him, but maybe as a sub. maybe if Sheaf needs to come off then move Rudoni back next to Eccles.

Match Thread Preston vs. Coventry City - Match Thread - Sat 19th Oct

It's Preston away. We'd get dicked 5-0 even if Pep let us borrow his first XI. I'm actually moving more towards trying the back 3 again and playing two strikers. Especially if Sakamoto is out. Main fear with that is if Bidwell is out and Dasilva has to play it leaves him wide open to the usual...

    The “too many cooks” theory

The number of coaches is fine. I reckon other teams probably have more. What bothers me is that there I can't work out what the structure is. They are all just 'first team coaches'. What do they actually do individually? Who is responsible for position and tactics in possession? Who is...

    Tipping

People should be paid enough to get by by the employer. It's not like the tips are set in stone like PRP in other positions. You can do your job absolutely brilliantly and get absolutely nothing. Any tips etc. should just be a bonus on top of a living wage for them doing their job well.

Questions that I genuinely can't answer

Well for a start we could look to play the way it's intended. As few touches as possible looking to release to the midfield or forwards. Not taking a load of touches and passing it sideways to the other CB. That probably means spending more time in training with the defenders on moving the ball...

Poll: Robins In or Out? Part 2

Before the Blackburn game I was thinking of starting a thread saying I'd worked out what the problem was - Grendel hadn't posted a taxi thread yet! @Grendel - you know what you have to do...

    Robins has to go…

They may not have liked it but it was by and large working for them. Whereas now.... Be careful what you wish for.

    Bassette

Given how Simms seems to work on confidence I wonder if it might be worth giving him a game in the U21's and hopefully run riot.

    EMC

If only we had a large number of coaches who could deal with this. Along with the set-pieces, throw-ins, goal kicks and shooting.

    Player ratings v weds

I was going to say lying on his application form, but visual impairment probably got him a fast track. Or if it tickles your particular political fancy it's woke for diversity and inclusion.

Match Thread Coventry City-SWFC Match Thread- Saturday 5th October

Although I tend to agree about a coach that will be tough, these days it seems performance directors move away from that, as I'm sure some study somewhere will say such an approach is counter-productive. You need a mix as different people react to different methods , and sometimes individuals...

Match Thread Coventry City-SWFC Match Thread- Saturday 5th October

Only listened to the second half on way home from work. We sounded ok on the whole and I think we were trying o get a winner, just not being gung ho about (but still managed to concede). Again we didn't make changes or react to them. But what's really annoying me today is that you concede in...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I'd say it should be the same everywhere. Encourage people to move to places that have lower living costs because they're in need of redevelopment by saying you get exactly the same as someone living in expensive London. Buy a dingy one bed flat or a nice three-bed semi with a garden for the...

To those who want Robins gone now

No he doesn't. Doug does. If he says no, nothing is happening. Although I have wondered if there is a player he identifies but the scouting department say no, would Doug let him overrule the scouts or not?

    Bidwell’s unlikely record

The way it's worded doesn't that mean Bidwell was younger at the time?

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I would like to see us concentrate more on quality or life rather than quantity quite so much, but I guess it's easier to work out how to keep a person alive, much harder to keep them well in older age.

    Villa

Being brought during the time they were our biggest local rivals I always really wanted to beat them. The '98 cup game and the Boateng/Aloisi double act are two of my favourite games. But even so I preferred them winning last night. And I'd rather them do well than the usual English lot. But...
