    Man city penalty

Interesting, biggest thing I would say against it is are there ever really more than 3 moments in a match that each team would want to appeal? Can't imagine you would often have 3+ if just for goals, red cards, pens is the only thing. But it's got its merits too for sure.

    Man city penalty

Sorry, just to clarify is that just for the application of VAR? As in it would only be used if a team used one of the reviews?

    Man city penalty

Tbf it's very easy to say and much harder to do as there is far too much subjectivety. It's always going to be the hardest thing in football to get right. Like for me, I've done refereeing and I didn't think Southampton's penalty was a penalty yesterday. The guy has gone shoulder to shoulder...

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

Was Kelly not a new two year deal at the end of last season?

Good shout! Had forgot he even existed. Think you are right from memory.

    Things that annoy you

I have just treated it as a motorway. Seems common sense driving if you don't know the area well. Move over if you can if not continue with your speed and the person merging will adjust theirs.

    Things that annoy you

Tbf I never actually knew that! Admittedly I never drive in places with ring roads. I only ever get trains into city centres (including cov) so I'm probably that dickhead who just sits in the left lane, on the odd occasion I have been on it.

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

My thinking would be that the budget isn't going to increase in any significant way come summer (if we stay in the championship.) In which case you are probably only looking at relatively small turnover of staff and I think most people expect at least 2 new CB's, a Lwb and an attacking...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Only a 5th of tests are checked for what variant it is. So whilst only 16k or whatever the number was are the official confirmed cases of Omicron, Whitty and co have already said it is the dominant strain. So you'd expect it to account for around 4/5th's of cases ISH maybe more at the moment.

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

I agree with you. But weren't most of those initial signings? Rather than extensions. With the exception of Shipley of course who I think everyone hoped would kick on but really hasn't.

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

No we activated a clause in the original contract. I can't be bothered to go searching for the article in case it doesn't exist the Rest of the argument stands. Yes if Moore was injured we likely would sign someone for the bench like we did Lee camp last year 👍 Your comment on David bell...

Have we given out a 4 year contract at all since Bell and Baker?

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

Bakayoko was never given an extension, it was an activation of his original contract. Wilson is a second choice keeper so a cheap contract for someone bang average to sit on the bench. I believe biamou was a contractual obligation to extend going by what robins said at the time about...

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

Even for you Grendel that is a stupid comment. Because every contract extension ends up like a David bell scenario. That fact you have had to go back a decade to make the point is telling.

    What is your specialty?

Mixed bag. GCSEs and A levels. Skipped uni as I believe it's a big scam for most people (obvious exceptions.) You can get a degree in anything now. Project management apprenticeship, poached into HR, enjoyed that for a few years but not truly satisfied. Joined the RAF and here I am. Paid to...

    FA/Premier League meeting tomorrow

Listening to what the players thing for one. It's not one extreme or the other not every game has to be canceled and not every game has go be played. The first step by authorities has been made for me by cancelling the FA cup replays. But the reality is it's been piss poor planning by the FA...

    FA/Premier League meeting tomorrow

I agree with this. Although to add I think the point is about welfare as a whole. It seems that some are only looking at it one dimensionally with Covid in mind. With things such as teams have 14 players they should play. It's a very different proposition for the top teams. Maybe there is...

    25% of EFL

I agree statistics can be used in any which way. However, obviously as a caveat to that it depends which statistics you use, and how it's used to inform a decision. You are talking solely about deaths which isn't the only determining factor. The other key thing throughout is the strain on...
