The way I see it, for the middle period of last season we were solidly a top 4 side form wise. The things that prevented us from achieving that were: - Persevering with 3 at the back too long to start the season - Lack of depth in wide areas once we switched to 433/4231 - Fixture congestion...

Of course, but our midfield is considerably weaker without him, I don’t see a new signing hitting the ground running that quickly. This season is one we should really push for I think, next summer we’re likely to see a few big departures if we don’t go up (Simms, MVE, Wright etc)
