Simms to start isn't a bad shout. Rudoni back in the squad would be a big lift ahead of what looks like our hardest month or so of the season.

    Championship thread 25/26!

No, but just being top isn't what has everyone excited, it's the gap we have to 2nd/3rd/7th.

We're still top, just by a smaller margin and with less points.

    Championship thread 25/26!

It does though, we've scored more, conceded less and have more points than "expected". Some of that will be merited, expected numbers aren't perfect. But there's room for us to decline. I'd like to see who they think might overtake us though, Ipswich is the only team I think you can really...

    Paddy Bamford

He'd never agree that here - at WBA he stands a decent chance of getting starts once fit, their current striker only has 2 goals. He'd be unlikely to start much at all for us.

Are you starting to really believe?

We don't even need 5, 2 or 3 quality additions would be perfect.

Rushworth - England Call up? (Talksport)

Did anyone seriously think Rushworth was getting in over Trafford?

    Paddy Bamford

Surely signing gets more attractive by the week from Bamford’s side as well. Another promotion can’t hurt the CV if he’s doing nothing else.

Makes sense if BTA is going to continue playing wide/behind Haji and we want a 3rd choice striker in case of injury.

I doubt Paterson was anywhere near our top earners?

    For any remaining non-believers

    - 1.8 ppg is still a lot (far better than we have managed over a full season since we got promoted) - Ipswich’s stats in your figure are muted because they were in the prem- I would expect them to average around 2ppg - It only takes one of the others to step up and we could be under pressure...

The run of 7 to christmas

I mean I’m not saying it’s a crisis, just I think performances need to improve a bit from our recent level. I’m confident they will once Rudoni is starting again but that could take a while, ideally we’d find another way of achieving it without him.

The run of 7 to christmas

What’s that sourced from? Fbref has Leeds on +1.30 and Burnley +0.41 xGD is by no means a perfect metric but I think it’s a decent indicator. Yes, I put it down to Rudoni being out, but he might not be fully fit for a while and it’s worrying that 1 player has that big of an impact.

The run of 7 to christmas

Over the season so far, Ipswich, Birmingham, Blackburn, Southampton and Watford. Obviously we don’t need to worry about some of those specific teams but it’s far from title winning performance.

The run of 7 to christmas

5 or 6 teams are averaging better than that

The run of 7 to christmas

our expected stats have dipped quite sharply, I posted a graph the other day. Since Sheff Weds we've only averaged around +0.2 xGD per game, previously it was over 1.

    EMC

The original source is here: Concussion I assume he would be eligible for the enhanced pathway given we are a professional club with medical staff, so the minimum timeframe is 7 days in exceptional circumstances or 12 otherwise, he could be available for our next game (WBA).
