So overall the JS statement positive or negative

I was left a little cold by the interview. Lot's of stuff I expected, and lots I agreed with, but I was surprised at the language used in reference to the council. No sign of an olive branch, not even an olive. We are not going back to the Ricoh, that much is clear.

So overall the JS statement positive or negative

Warwickshire CC have no planning powers. It says that clearly on the link you posted: "This website only contains details of Minerals and Waste applications made to Warwickshire County Council, and the County Council’s own applications. For other types of planning applications such...

    Key Quotes from Reid/Seppala

Sorry, I don't know what you mean. Catering rights and naming rights revenues were not included in the funding sources for £120 million build costs (iirc) - those revenues went direct to ACL. The council did stump up £12 million, that is undeniable, so they made it happen in that sense. But...

So overall the JS statement positive or negative

Since when has the process of discussing a possible planning application involved the local authority telling the applicant to 'get lost'? They are not allowed to prejudice any application before it's submitted, only offer practical advice. We're not living in fucking Narnia. Given that the...

So overall the JS statement positive or negative

Exactly, there is absolutely no reason why any local authority would have to disclose the details of informal talks because of a FOIA request.

    Key Quotes from Reid/Seppala

Who said it was simple? It's a completely redundant question given that you know the answer. Most of the funding was already in place, there was a shortfall and the council bridged that with a bank loan, a loan the club were never going to get. I notice you neglected to address the second...

The financial arguement for a new ground

"Stay firm ACL". Just about sums up the warped agenda of the majority of our fans.

The financial arguement for a new ground

Concerts no, but day to day business activities and social functions yes. There is a huge market in this city for business/conference facilities and there is no reason why we could not get a share of that market. Take a look at old accounts from the HR days - they made a surprising amount from...

    Key Quotes from Reid/Seppala

Built them a stadium using other people's money only then to impose terms that made it nigh on impossible for the club to achieve that stated aim. Genius.

    Les Reid= FAIL

Of course they could sell the club and retain stadium ownership, but who in their right mind would buy it without at the very least safeguarding the revenue streams essential for the club to prosper. It's all well and good saying SISU would sell the club on in that scenario, but they would have...

The financial arguement for a new ground

Why are you factoring those things into your 'calculations', given that under your 400K rent scenario the club wouldn't get a penny of those revenues.

    Les Reid= FAIL

No, not at all. I would quite like to hear the answer myself.

    Pretty Confirmed Now

No they didn't, they were referring to a revised rental agreement and that 'handshake'. The HOT referred to by JS and TF previously is the one relating to the purchase of the 50% stake in ACL at the end of last year - and I have argued with people on here about that endlessly.

    Pretty Confirmed Now

It's funny how the same people who for so long denied that there was any such HOT (signed) agreement, are now conceding there was, but true to form, are now trying to invent reasons why the council were right to pull out at the last minute.

    Les Reid= FAIL

But ultimately it is about the viability of the football club. If, under such an arrangement, the club was sustainable and self-financing, I'm not sure why it matters all that much what the internal company structure is because the club and stadium company would be under single ownership.

    Les Reid= FAIL

How can anyone realistically prove that it won't happen? Just as you cannot prove that it will.

We'll Come Back To The Ricoh...

No, that was an agreement bewteen SISU and ACL which both sides signed up to, it was sensible, and it concerned part ownership of ACL, and not the Ricoh. Ownership of the freehold is clearly worth a lot more. Will they offer below market value? Almost certainly, but it doesn't mean it will be...

We'll Come Back To The Ricoh...

Does that mean Grimsby and Manchester United should change their names then? Just over the boundary but in the Coventry conurbation is fine by me - I'm not so anal that I get all precious about an imaginary line drawn by a civil servant. Boundaries change anyway. Start putting miles of...
