Though, of course, one could argue neither really attempted to stop it.

    Biamou - new contract

As I’ve said, I’d be bringing in a starting striker to challenge Walker/Godden, and then have Max on a 1-year extension. He’s not been that bad for most of this season, will be cheap and gives Tavares time to see if he progresses sufficiently.

    Strengthening in the summer

I’d rather, on the whole, we developed our own players than someone else’s. Fine with him plugging a gap this year although I would have played Giles more. We need a starting LWB of our own in the summer though. Also in agreement with shmmeee that he’s not good enough on the ball nor dynamic...

Match Thread U23’s v Hull City

Another example of not monetising the product, I suppose.

    Strengthening in the summer

Mentioned in another thread but Max Clark, left back who’s spent the last 2 seasons at Vitesse and has just joined Hull on a contract until the end of the season. Would be free and seemingly did well over in Holland. Was being linked to some PL teams not long back.

    Players out of contract

Separate note but I’ve been having a look at players available in the summer (yes, I am that sad). One that’s of interest is Max Clark who’s recently joined Hull on a short term deal from Vitesse. Looks like he had a relatively fruitful time in Holland so not really sure how him leaving came...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It was something I was talking about in like August last year. Why did they not think about doing it at that point? Another example of complete indecision.

Worth remembering we brought in a reported £3.5m for McCallum. Could have limited the damage. Besides, pretty much every club will be in a similar boat given what’s happening at the moment. Let’s see what happens.

    Players out of contract

It’s possible, of course, that he will eventually develop into a Championship player. Unfortunately we’re just outgrowing him.

Left back / wing back against Norwich next Tuesday

If Reid is fit, play him. Yes he might have a torrid time but it’s a game we’ll probably lose anyway and we’re not exactly blessed with options.

Done some fag packet working out this morning and I reckon if we could increase our wage bill by 15-20% (which isn’t unreasonable given we will hopefully have fans back and the additional revenues that go along with it) and drop the squad size by 5 then we’d have a reasonable chunk of money to...

Disagree on pure squad size - by my reckoning we’ve got about 32-33 in the first team frame (including those currently out on loan). You’re right about the injury situation though, although that would be something we may need to look at changing to progress. This season was always going to need...

I think we’d be more than able to bring two starting CBs in (hopefully one being Ostigard) given McFadzean’s contract is expiring. We need to upgrade the squad otherwise, as shmmeee’s touched on, what is the point of it all? I’d be looking to reduce the squad size and focus more on quality over...

    Matt Godden

If the budget allows, I’d like him to stay but we also need another striker in. 2 of him, Walker and a new striker battling it out with Biamou as a squad reserve is the way to go in my opinion.

    Who knows Bedworth?

Horse must have had fucking good balance.

    Ostigard

Agreed. I’ve said on another thread I think it’s unlikely we get him, but given it would reduce the squad turnover I would be looking to him as one of the first potential deals on the table.

Whilst I fully appreciate the need for a stadium/home, why is it logical for a business (CCFC) to take on potentially large amounts of debt to build a stadium? How is that economically viable?

    Biamou - new contract

Yep, chuck Sam Surridge in there and I will wet myself.

Your point was that they wouldn’t sell him, my point was that we don’t need them to.
