The difference between the kind of games you'll be playing in the Man City or Arsenal youth environment, and the Championship is gigantic. But sooner or later it's necessary to find out whether they can make that step. That's why they go out on loan, and why they will often find it really tough...

I agree with the others, but Gav's crap tbh

True, but he would be twice the player if he could whip a cross in. Mostly just chips it vaguely in the direction of the goalmouth.

BNC makes some good forward runs, and defends well at times. But weirdly he sometimes looks too knackered to get close enough to his man, even near the start of the game. There’s obviously potential, but maybe he needs a tough pre-season or something to bring out the best in him?

Jamie Allen not much taller than his mascot LOL

5 years since Mansfield away. Turning point

    Andreu definitely looked classy.

Jamie Allen is Guilty of War Crimes

I couldn't agree more, and in recent weeks the efforts to win on the internet have become more and more ludicrous, with both Palmer and Allen the subject of some pretty far-fetched nonsense. One of them can't run, and the other can only run.

Just a mention for Eccles - I think Robins will have been delighted with his performance today, very good with and without the ball.

I agree, yet you casually dropped in a reference to Palmer in response to Allen's scoring stats.

FFS all these Allen vs Palmer arguments, trying to score points on a forum. If we play two AMs and you want two Jamie Allens, you’re mad. And if you want to play two Kasey Palmers you’re mad as well. I’m quite happy to have them both on the pitch.

It's not the majority though is it? Most people recognise his qualities, quite a few see limitations and think we could sign better, and only a small vociferous minority keep slagging him off.

Interesting take on the formation from the BBC. Maybe we should try it?

You caught one of the bricks that went through the City coach windows, and returned it with interest?

A poignant thing about the footage is seeing Les Sealey in the prime of his youth. He was easy to both love and hate, but mostly I loved the guy. I think he was a West Ham fan, and after the first leg game said he was gutted to have conceded a goal to 'Bonzo'.

I would have done, but we were all a bit jammed in! One of the nostalgic things about that TV footage is how much more fun it was on a crowded terrace, at least if you were young and it wasn't overcrowded to dangerous levels like it was at Hillsborough.

I agree, and I think the idea that he couldn’t last a full game was exaggerated / imagined anyway by certain people. Even in previous games, OK he drifted out of them at times, but I don’t think it’s a fitness or desire issue. It’s just incredibly hard for flair players to keep impressing across...

Yeah the home game was incredible, and I was in the West End too, immediately behind the goal. Losing the 2nd leg at the death was the worst I've ever felt at a game. Had to travel across London with loads of Hammers fans on the tube afterwards, with my City scarf well buried under my coat 😬
