Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Thing I find hard to tally in that is that Con voters are so out of step with public opinion overall, but as Tories have a good majority you're left wondering how on earth can that many people disagree with them yet they win. Only things I can come up with is lower turnout of people with those...

Options don't really say enough. As a player he's more than capable but the big issue will be cost. He'll have to take a hell of a pay cut to join and i don't think he's worthy of becoming our highest earner. Is he starting to become the leader on the pitch we need someone of his age and...

    Gallagher retail park

They did the job at the time so I wouldn't call them all a total disaster since inception. They've just lived their useful lives and now need another rethink. Thing I always found odd was the a city like Cov with such a decentralised retail offering and numerous retail parks builds an IKEA...

I can't see us paying anyone's contract off so I think MR will be looking to offer him on a free. I reckon someone would take him but if not it'd be stupid to not even give him a chance to work his way back in given the only LB we'd have would be two youngsters in Reid and Newton (if Newton has...

    Gallagher retail park

As retail continues to go online I reckon a lot of the retail parks will be the next brownfield sites earmarked for housing.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The irony is for capitalism to truly work the theory has to assume everyone has the same power and spending ability, thus the best ideas and solutions come to the fore purely on merit. It totally ignores the imbalance which can lead to the best ideas not being implemented because of the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

For some it is. But for most it's an increasing fear of change as the brain loses its plasticity. They just can't contemplate things being different. Fewer and fewer people are 'enjoying' the benefits of capitalism in this country. Wealth division is huge and increasing at an ever quickening rate.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I watched the debate for the WM Mayor and Street was an odd one. Half of the stuff he was talking about i swear he promised last time and/or his party has specifically worked against during that time. He also seemed pretty fixated on the tram infrastructure as well so he might be a bit...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Tradition. We've had a long, long period of right-wing politics and even the only break from that was centre-left at best. Ingrained belief they're a steady hand, party of law-and-order etc and it's just becomes almost Pavlovian. As people get older they tend to move the right as fear of change...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Exactly - perception not reality. There is no empirical evidence that Tories are any better at doing an effective job - it's just this long standing ingrained thought that they do. It's seemingly based on Labour of 50 years ago and it's a lot different to then. As for voting greens I think it's...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I agree about it likely to be a lot more food/perishables not being exported in comparison to non-EU but not sure about it just being a bigger market overall. It's a percentage change compared to the same metric isn't it, so the disparity in scale is considered in the calculation.

But Tories do good PR. Vaccine programme doing well means 18 months of mismanagement, corruption and lying get forgotten. I see already they're preparing the general public for the next 'Tories are great' story by having "biggest ever predicted growth" stories flying about, when with even a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Indeed. I see the BBC had the 'Starmer taking cheap pot shots' story because of a picture with some wallpaper was 3rd on the main headlines earlier. Higher up the bill than the VIP PPE contracts. A picture is more newsworthy than billions in public funds given to donors/family/friends. The PM/...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It's more the point that any party that decides to work with the Tories tends to end up getting caned and ends up the scapegoat. But on issues like that yes they do make Tories look 'woke'. Irony is that those kind of issues they're far more closely aligned with deep Catholicism and even the...

He's the biggest arsehole in a government rife with them. I'm almost willing to give the likes of Johnson and JRM a bit of leeway because their privileged upbringing gives them that mindset. Gove however was in care in Scotland and was adopted. He literally relied on the goodwill of strangers...
