Palmer played a number of brilliant balls yesterday. I can (just about) understand people criticising his stamina etc., but surely not his skill and creativity.

Yes it was 'boisterous' in the West End, and looking back with 21st Century eyes the atmosphere at football matches was prehistoric really. To most people, it seemed prehistoric even at the time to be honest.

So you stuck to one place in ground, even when they put the seats in! I was the opposite - I had long spells (years) on the Kop, the crow's nest, in the Main Stand, and the West End (before and after seating), but I literally don't think there was any part of Highfield Road I didn't watch games...

Wow I don't remember the part-built Sky Blue Stand! I was only a young kid at the time though. The terrace at the west end was always called the 'west end' regardless of its formal name. Edit: even after the seats were put in.

The first one is the side terracing in front of the Sky Blue stand, the second one is the West End. Both bring back so many memories. That fencing was horrible, but somehow it came to be accepted.
