    Nowhere near good enough

Yes they’ve done absolutely brilliantly and opened up a 9-point gap to the team in third, which is impressive. 22 teams are below them, and every one of them has a big squad full of highly paid professional footballers. Not sure what the point is.

Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

No, I mean if we had won any of the games we've already lost, we'd be 12th. It could easily have happened. The post I was responding to was from someone who is panicking about relegation because we are 5th from bottom, but if we were in mid table he'd accept that as transitional.

    Nowhere near good enough

We didn’t have a great game, who said we did? We are mixing it in one of the most competitive leagues in the world and it’s not (yet) going to plan. Getting to the playoff final (with everything going our way near the end of the season) has gone to people’s heads. Now we expect to be top six...

    Nowhere near good enough

    This meltdown tonight is pathetic.

Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

It’s based on watching the players we have in the squad, thinking we have the capacity to add a couple more, and trusting more in Robins and Viveash than in anyone contributing here. It’s a tough league, and we’ve lost two major players. The team shape isn’t delivering results at the moment...

Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

I feel pretty much the same after this game as the Bristol one. This team will come good, and the players who are going to get slaughtered on here tonight will prove people wrong. Really frustrating at the moment though.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I agree it's relevant, I just think obsessing about and bringing it up all the time is pointless. It's also counter-productive because it's probably piling pressure on the player that isn't helping his performances. The deal is done, let's let him just play and see what he can bring to the table.

It's not as sophisticated as that. Perhaps he's just checking the wind direction. Does he lick his finger first?

So if one of the shots by Simms or Godden goes in off the post (or a defender's arse), Wilson somehow keeps out their header, and we scrape a 1-0 win, you're saying the ratings for Eccles, Sakamoto and the rest would still have been the same? No chance. People would be crowing about a...

You said Jamie Allen "wasn't very good at football" last season though.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Can everyone please stop obsessing about the fee paid for Haji? You’re hanging it round his neck like an albatross FFS. If he’d cost 1.5m or 2m there’d be a lot of comments on here about him being potentially exciting and a good bit of business that brings something different to the squad...

Ridiculous how individual player ratings across the whole team jump up and down according to the result, which in reality depends on small margins in both boxes.

We've managed to lose to the worst side we've played this season. Bristol offered absolutely nothing.

    Anyone with Guinea-Bissauan ancestry?

    A collector's item then ;)

    Anyone with Guinea-Bissauan ancestry?

That's not quite what it means though. It's not everyone originating from a country. The diaspora is the people who have left (dispersed from) a country (or their descendants). Must go back through the family tree to check for obscure nationalities. Might be able to represent Kiribati at...
