Funny as that is, couldn't they have brought one of their own players back on? I mean, if the ref's letting an opposition player play for them he's not exactly being a stickler for the rules is he.

Quite possibly. Thing with cricket is it's never had as wide an appeal as football so needed a wider catchment area to generate enough of a fanbase to be viable. T20/100 are shorter games and more dynamic so keep your attention more, which would appeal more to the younger generation. Birmingham...

It can be annoying and in economics I get annoyed they used the mean and ignore the median (and modal) which would give a better indication of the 'average' person as just a small number of very wealthy people massively skew the mean average up, and often wage/income growth is again massively...

Probably. Also shows he's either stupid or deliberately misleading quoting the median age rather than the mean.

Supposedly some market research said they'd get more fans in if they just went with Birmingham because they're an untapped market and the demographic make-up is now much more multi-cultural. With it not being in Warwickshire any more the youngsters don't feel any affinity to it but they do to...

This is true but it will take time, like it did here, to filter through, We had a big population explosion post-industrialisation as infant mortality fell and life expectancy increased but the old habits and beliefs kept going. Hopefully they would move to the lower birth rates quicker than us...

But still growing. Massively. 8.4% growth of a billion people is still an awful lot more people. It may seem that very long term signs are encouraging and maybe they'll come down even more in that time but it's still a massive crisis in the short to medium term

    Training Wear

You'd have thought given the physique of many football fans shirts nowadays would automatically be designed to be able to accommodate women too. Although with the bellies it'd probably be sold as maternity wear in most shops.

Would be great apart from one small snag - the 'fund accordingly' bit. Remember this is the Tories, who don't do investing in services, and many influential people want to see the NHS sold off.

This is basically the gamble Johnson alluded to last Feb/Mar. Get everything open, steal a march on everyone else. He's never really gone away from it ideologically. As he said himself he'd rather have the bodies piling up in the streets.

I just assumed it must be people complaining about restrictions being lifted (and the nonsensical thing of them all gathering close together to do so). To be complaining about lockdown when pretty much everything has been lifted or become 'advisory' is nothing short of monumentally stupid. The...

And this reporting is part of the problem. It describes the population going down as a crisis. Not that it would give more resources per person, or that it could improve wages and working conditions due to reduced competition, but as a crisis. In history things have got better for the average...

Well if that were true why is the population continuing to increase? Currently by around 80m people per year (which is lower than its peak around 1990 of around 90m but still 80MILLION extra people to feed and provide for EVERY YEAR. UN expects it to keep growing and likely to be beyond...
