    Decently contracted squad...

It's good to see us near the top of that table, but for context you'd need to see much further down the list. If the vast majority of clubs are above (say) 80%, being on 86% doesn't make that much difference.

Eccles Injured for rest of the season

Wasn't Josh said to be playing through an injury? Hope that's not what caused this. Regardless of that, I find it ridiculous that Sheaf gets panned for being too soft when he misses games. If you have an injury that needs to be protected, it's crazy to try and be some sort of hero.

    RIP Eddie Jordan

Couple of nice tributes to him on the BBC, including from Damon Hill. Such a big character.

Matchday Rewind West Ham United 1 - 0 Coventry City | Sat, 23 Aug, 1986

I remember the disappointment of this defeat, reading the score at a newspaper stand on holiday. Never actually seen any of the action until now! Strange seeing those cup-winning players, all unaware of what was to come 🏆 🙂 I noticed the ferry didn't even bother measuring 10 yards for the free...

    Ephron's control touch

The threads about him on here early in the season were pathetic, and some of us tried in vain to say so. For anyone watching properly, you could see he was a very good player finding his feet for a new club at a higher level. But people rubbished him for a few minor understandable mistakes. As...

    Victor Torp

And to repeat myself from other threads, he sat out of most of this season's pre-season too with an injury. Most likely only played in the early games out of necessity because we were short of numbers in midfield. Has always looked good enough, and now he's caught up on fitness he's a fantastic...

    Sunderland player ratings

He basically missed pre-season, so it's understandable. Robins had to play him because Sheaf was out and we hadn't added a midfielder in the summer. As you say, his ability is shining through now that he's up to speed.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we came back from behind twice with 10 men and won it at the end, which is what made it so unique.

    Looks like we’ve ….

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a football fan in possession of an away scarf in the home end, must be in want of a bust lip and a black eye.

    Rudoni injury

Cov Tel article (update on the injury from Frank) confirms there was a dislocation and that it 'popped back in' again. No mention of it dislocating a second time, which I believe was what led people to think the injury might be more serious.
