    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I'm hoping it's precautionary and that in fact some lessons have been learnt. If that is the case then not only will we hopefully not have another awful variant to deal with but i will have had a tiny modicum of faith restored that even the most pig-headed of people can learn and change.

I think Starmer is capable of governing the UK (if Johnson is then frankly there can't be that many people that aren't). What I don't think he's capable of is convincing the general public he is.

Remember the first time I got told about the "I'm in need of a guy" and now i hear nothing else. Another one is Ghostbusters. "Who ya gonna call?" "THOSE BASTARDS!"

Like STP said I think bigger clubs look to snatch them before they enter full-time academy because it's a lot cheaper and difficult for clubs to retain them contractually because of their age. When the system came in it looked like it had basically been decided upon by the top clubs, who could...

We've had less come through in recent years and chances are that would reduce even more if we went up again because the standard they need to reach is so much higher and the financial implications of failure become massive, so you can't take the risk on a youngster unless they're an absolutely...

Not exactly misheard lyrics but Never Mind The Buzzcocks did this and turned into a story of a sugar junkie which I still can't help but sing when I hear it now. (WOO HOO) When I feel like a fig roll (WOO HOO) Or a piece of Arctic Roll (WOO HOO) When I lie in my bed, yeah All of the time, I'm...

There must be one hell of a prize for the winner of this year's Tory party "Who Can Say The Dumbest Thing" competition. So many of them trying their hardest to win.

I'd go back to the box for this. Kelly's experience would be useful but it would mean one of Sheaf or Hamer playing more advanced which isn't their nature. They both have the ability to be creative in a different way to O'Hare using their passing, and if Hamer would be more willing to shoot it...

So we have all this lovely interplay and then he fails to beat the first man with the cross and it comes to nothing. If the ball doesn't end up in the net it doesn't matter how much fancy play goes on before it. Beckham rarely beat his man but his crossing was that good he didn't need to.

To be fair he was only on the pitch five minutes and in that time he got himself into a position to score, albeit he did miss it. If the strikers don't get more than one good chance in the first five minutes of a game should it be said they've done very little and should be sent out on loan?

It's a figure of speech. I obviously don't mean it'd be the end of the world if we lost, just that taking something from the game now becomes far more important to try and maintain where we are than if we'd have won tonight.

it's almost like cos he went for it at the weekend and the game went away from us he's decided it's no going to work tonight. If you're going to make attacking subs and push for the win it's better to do it at home with the crowd behind you. I do sometimes wonder what is going through MR's...

If we'd won tonight we could have approached that game with a bit more freedom, knowing it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get a result. Now it feels like we need to pick up at least a point.
