I don't think £20k is crazy wages at this level in the current climate. It's a going rate. We've been paying others not much less than that who've made little contribution at all.

I agree. Considering we had loans we could (and did) use and would have had that bit of money to help fund a replacement, it seems a bit odd to turn down such a bid for a player who could be leaving for free in a few months and isn't an automatic starter. So I'm taking that with a pinch of salt.
