Going to be a hard game regardless, amd if we got 3ATB then I think we'll lose. Collins/Wilson MvE Thomas Kitching Bidwell Eccles O'Hare Torp Palmer Simms Wright Collins/Wilson, Lati, Dasilva, Binks, Kelly, Tavares, Godden + 2 youngsters

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

MvE and Tavares tried to convince him to join in with them and he politely declined. He wanted none of it. Seems like a very quiet guy but hopefully he's starting to feel settled so his ability can come to the fore. The holding up of Sakamoto's shirt is another sign of how he feels part of the...

    Maidstone Ratings

Wilson - 6 nowt to do Bidwell - 6 Lati - 6.5 Thomas - 7 Kitching - 7 Kelly - 6.5 Tidy enough for this game but too slow for the Championship. Got caught in possession a couple of times. Torp - 7.5 Palmer - 7.5 Tavares - 7 was poor on the wing but much more comfortable when played as a striker...

Match Thread Coventry City - Maidstone United [FA] Match Thread - Monday 26th Feb

A good professional performance. Get a couple of goals early, slow the game down and control possession, score a few more at the end to show we could have done more if we wanted. Defence had little to do. Wilson still didn't come for anything in his area. Midfield was tidy enough. Kelly got...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Seems mad in a day where we want to be eco-friendly, make the place healthier and greener and help wildlife that a hedge is banned. Maybe one over a certain height, but altogether is mad.

    Reality check

Didn't see them walking out early when beating the likes of Rotherham though did you? I always show how happy I am by leaving a game early...

Maybe, but while saving into that deposit account you'll also be having to pay rent at the same time, so you're effectively doing the same thing but with larger sums of rent.

If the alternative is all rent and all going to your landlord then a mortgage and you ending up with home ownership seems a much better alternative. Also, if it was owned by a council it wouldn't be as bad as a private landlord IMO.

    Reality check

While I get what you're saying it's whether it's better to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond. Do you think the Sheffield U fans are enjoying their PL season as much as last season in the Championship? From a commercial point of view getting promoted is vital, but...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The way it is done it's a recipe for problems, but something has to be done to enable people to own homes. A lot of wealth disparity is from property ownership. People who rent pay more over a lifetime than someone with a mortgage and they end up with no asset wealth to show for it. Deeply...

    5 at the back now

Think we've got thing we could try with the front three. Palmer playing wide. Possibly Simms wider and Godden playing? Tavares on occasion? Not saying I'm particularly enamoured with those choices, but I'm even less enthused about returning to a back 3 and wing backs.

Robins has taken us as far as he can.

Said it numerous times but manager turnover is not a correlation between managers staying longer and teams doing better. The managers stay longer BECAUSE the team is playing better. You mention Strachan. He'd been manager for 5 years or so when he left. Surely by that time we should have been...

Wales v Ireland kits 6 nations

Often wondered why snooker balls aren't patterned with the numeric value of the ball to help those who are colourblind.

    Sakamoto Injury

I thought foot splayed was a sign of a broken hip (the bit of bone connecting the ball joint to the femur)? Had a couple of my family have this and both had a splayed foot. (also the leg looked slightly shorter, though I think that just depends on how displaced it is).

Match Thread Coventry City - Maidstone United [FA] Match Thread - Monday 26th Feb

Keep changing my mind. Started thinking go strong, get the game won and rest players. Then thought play the lesser used squad players and have the decent players on the bench in case. After last night I was back to thinking full strength and hammer them. Do we go for the better attacking/ball...

So does that mean the country is in the hands of Hindus, given Sunak's religion?

    Something urgent needs to happen

If anyone says we moan about shit refs I think the injuries to Allen and Saka (both of which didn't even get a card at the time) proves we get a shit deal. And that's without even mentioning all the little fouls we suffer and don't get anything. We do it once and it's a yellow. How many time...

Nostradreamus. Though at least we didn't get a red card. We seem to have a truly horrendous performance once a season. Let's just hope that's it. Though with injuries now starting to bite it's going to be one hell of a struggle to secure a playoff place.

Surely start resting players given we've got a game in 3 days. This game is gone.
